The American Psychological Association has spoken and they have declared that it is NOT a mental illness.
Gov. Chris Christie of NJ has in fact BANNED all “conversion therapy” designed to help such people. Even when they voluntarily WANT to go through such therapy.
BY LAW in California and now in NJ, these people don’t need any help. “They were born that way” is the new mantra.

Yes but my question was HOW it cannot be a mental illness. Clearly there are some serious screws loose in these individuals. Whether the defect is physical or the result of psychological trauma these people are very unhappy and maladjusted. How they can rationalize this as normal is a mystery to me. And if they are normal, how can you justify prescribing hormones therapy or surgical multilation?
