Well said. Not taking race into consideration is just putting one’s head into the sand. Statistics show that common sense says race is a consideration in crime, especially violent crime (murder, assault, rape). People use more judgement and discrimination in choosing a pair of shoes than they do in protecting themselves and their children from being victims of crime.
Or rather, many consciously or unconsciously do employ judgement, but won’t admit it even to themselves. They use judgement when deciding where to buy or rent a home, what the schools are like in the area, etc. Liberals employ this judgement as much as anyone-rich people, whether liberal or conservative, use it. You could say that’s a socioeconomic factor, and that’s partly true, but if that were all it was, there would be more than a handful of well-to-do, safe, secure all-black communities with good schools. Instead, most blacks who become successful-what’s the first thing they do when they leave the hood? Move into a “good” white neighborhood.
Right, and that’s usually the “natural selection” that weeds out the blacks that choose to leave the rotten culture. If they work hard and can afford to move into a more white neighborhood, then they usually have the characteristics to fit in there. The ones that wallow in that culture don’t leave the hood, unless of course HUD starts deciding to subsidizing them to do so, as they have talked about.
