Absolutely - it is the hallmark of totalitarian regimes to honor the existing leader with public monuments dedicated in their honor. The US used to resist that, but we already have public buildings, Navy ships, etc., named after living US presidents, including some Rpublicans. And we even have some public schools named after the CURRENT US president. This should not be.
