Lanny Martinson left a lot in Vietnam: parts of himself, both physical and emotional.
The U.S. Marine Corps veteran lost his right leg in a minefield outside Khe Sanh in 1968. He relinquished his youth in that field, struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder and survivors guilt.
In June, his 45-year-long healing process took another, giant step forward.
Thanks to a cadre of Good Samaritans, and notably an Australian citizen, the Texas resident has regained something very important to him: his once long-lost dog tags.

Yes, I know what you mean. I lost mine about five years ago. Might have been while getting a chest X-ray. You might think the hospital would have called me since they had my name on them. Then again, maybe not, as I had major surgery two years ago and they said I was type A-. Since that is what they put into me, they must have been correct. Wonder who the dumb corpsman was that mis-typed me. Feeding you with the wrong blood type will kill you.
Should have said the Navy typed me as blood type A. My real type is A negative.
So that's what a corpse-man is!
