Exactly. The country with the monarch is having their deliberative body debate the merits.

Over here in our constitutional republic, our dictator calls the shots while the media nods approvingly.

Yep.....He is seeing his regime under attack by almost everyone. He has to distract attention away from the fact he could be impeached.

Perhaps zero does not want to piss off to many in Congress then he has already done, by cutting short their vacations.

Bit of a difference lobbing a few missiles and starting a full scare war.

If Syria lobbed a few missiles into London preemptively would that constitute an act of war?

Depends on the response...a spark could ignite WWIII.

Iraq didn’t attack the US on Sept 11th 2001.

BTW I fully supported the use of military force after Sept 11th, but against Afghanistan. My objection to the Iraq War is that it diverted men and material to a second front (never a good idea) when the first front wasn’t finished.

And Syria didn’t attack the United States in 2013...but Russia, China and Iran all support Syria. So what the hell is the US doing???

After the chemical strikes, which seem to have been done by Assad, I suppose the US, UK and France weren’t going to sit back and do nothing. I am uneasy at the strikes, if they happen, only air/naval, no boots on the ground. Not even SF (as UK papers are claiming——saying the SAS is in Syria to help target the military targets).
