Syrian Official: If Damascus is Attacked, Tel Aviv Will Burn
Arutz Sheva ^ | 8/28/2013 | Elad Benari

Posted on 08/27/2013 7:47:20 PM PDT by Lera

A senior official in the Syrian army warned the United States and its partners on Tuesday that waging a full-scale war on Syria would be reciprocated with an immediate attack on Tel Aviv.

"If Damascus comes under attack, Tel Aviv will be targeted too and a full-scale war against Syria will actually issue a license for attacking Israel," the Syrian army source told the Iranian Fars news agency.

"Rest assured that if Syria is attacked, Israel will also be set on fire and such an attack will, in turn, engage Syria's neighbors," he added.

The source also warned the U.S. and other Western states that if Syria grows weak, certain irresponsible groups will be formed which will endanger Israel's security.

"Therefore, weakening the central government in Damascus will actually start growing attacks on Israel and will create insecurity for that regime," he claimed.

"Thus, a U.S. attack on Syria will herald frequent strikes and attacks on Israel, not just by Damascus and its allies in retaliation, but by extremist groups who will find a ground for staging their aspirations," he concluded.

The comments come amid growing speculations that U.S. President Barack Obama and other Western countries are planning to respond in some form to a deadly chemical attack in Syria last week, which killed hundreds.

Limited attack is like pouring gas on a fire.
All it will do is unite the crazies against Israel and put her into a position were she has no choice but to turn Syria into a sea of glass.

assad must not understand that an attack on Israel would delight the wretched west these days in these times. He needs this ‘splained to him.
The US and Britain put assad in power with Israel’s aquiescence because they thought he would be much easier to control than his brother who ‘died’ in an ‘unfortunate’ car crash.

Limited attack is like pouring gas on a fire.

That I agree with. Syria has some pretty serious toys to bring to the party.

But I can't shake that this is a convoluted call for help Syrian style.
It's obvious to anyone paying attention (this includes the spineless bastards that occupy DC and scurry off on recess at break neck speeds) that this administration is solidly muslim brotherhood. Its like a death pang, a last effort. If Syria falls, Israel will be dealing with the greater of two evils; only now they have all sorts of neat party poppers at their disposal.

I hate to say this, but Israel's smart choice is to move against this administration (notice, not America, this administration); who would they ally themselves with though?

“Butch” Obama is trying to impress Muslims unimpressed with the Brotherhood.
Two points: Russia really didn’t do much of anything when Bush’s 1 and 2 bitch-slapped their other client.
‘Mother of all battles.’ Been there done that.
The real problem here? Like Carter, Barry could screw up a two car funeral. This is an Obama FUBAR just waiting to hatch.

A limited engagement like what this regime is playing up will do nothing but strengthen Assad’s hand, since in that part of the world, merely surviving an attack from the U.S. is regarded as a major victory.

Somehow the street fighting mentality of the Chicago gang/mob doesnt seem to have much clout internationally. When pay to play— extortion — threats don’t work 0 send in the murder4hire drones to eliminate his opposition !

So now he’s dealing with a thug whose gonna call his bluff.... And.....he doesn’t really know the neighborhood or who belongs to which opposing gang.

The Bombing of Syria will be the Golden opportunity that Israel is looking for. Iran has already stated that they will retaliate by attacking Israel if the US (or its’ Allies) attack Syria. Israel will use this opportunity to go after Iran’s Atomic Bomb and Missile facilities. The US will then be further attack by Iran in retaliation for the attack, thus lessening the attack that Iran delivers on Israel. Israel will then be allied with the US in a regional war with Iran. Watch what Israel does while everyone is concentrating on Syria.

why Tel Aviv???

that’s misdirection

if Assad were really honest he would target Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) and Doha (Qatar) NOT Tel Aviv, as the Saudis and Qatar have been in on the genesis, creation, building and supporting of the “Syrian opposition” all along, NOT Israel.

The Syrian opposition is a creation of U.S./Saudi/Qatar intelligence and diplomatic services, international foundation front groups U.S./Saudi/Qatar funneled and ran support through to launder everything as though merely helping an already existing (non existent) organized “opposition”. Eventually arms and telecommunications came from them as well.

What was Israel’s role? Zero, zilch, nada.

So who is Assad playing to? The wider “Arab Street” as Saddam did, even though Assad KNOWS who really put up the
“opposition” movement he has been fighting.

Bingo. The right hand needs to be watching what the left hand is doing. Israel will be busy at work bombing Iran’s nuke facilities in retaliation, while everyone is fixated on Syria. Hope it works out this way. Kills two birds with one stone. Syria and Iran.

Probably because Syrians can not reach City of London where the masters of Saudi and Qatari lapdogs are located. Hitting Riyadh and Doha is like hitting kennel.

“Saudi and Qatari lapdogs are located. Hitting Riyadh and Doha is like hitting kennel.”

You have that relationship backwards; sixty-plus years of British retreat and billions of gallons of oil, and trillions of dollars, and financially weakened Britain have reversed that relationship; reflecting another part of why it’s now called Londonstan. It is the Suadi & Gulf state agendas that Britain now serves in the Middle East; not the other way around.

London, U.K. (a.k.a. Londonistan) is one thing, City of London another :-)

Their relationship is similar to Rome and Vatican.

It's true that Britannia mostly sunk, but City still rules the waves. By other means of course.
