As a Latino, I have faced my share of racism over the years, and I think I know it when I see it. My current definition of racism is having a distorted, twisted view of the world based on race. While this warped way of looking at the world based on race may take many forms, the clearest illustration is found in a hypocritical, selective, inconsistent perception and evaluation of reality based on race.
It is obvious that people of color have faced racism throughout history, and that societies have not often treated them fairly. Our justice systems, as part of society, are no exception. Clearly, we must continue to do our best to root out such racism and injustice as best we can. However, we are not going to achieve that goal through our own hypocrisy, selective outrage, and double standards.
Anyone with two eyes, two ears, and/or a working brain witnessed the mainstream media's wall-to-wall coverage of the Trayvon Martin case, where an African-American teen was shot to death by a Latino allegedly in self-defense. The biased mainstream media, ever anxious to stoke the fires of racial discord, waved childhood photos of Martin; pretended that the Latino, George Zimmerman, was as white as snow; and painted the entire tragedy as steeped in racial overtones. By comparison, when a courageous and heroic African-American teen, Temar Boggs, saved a little white girl from a treacherous kidnapper, this same mainstream media paid much less attention. The obvious difference between the Martin and Boggs cases was that the Martin case had great potential to stir up racial tensions and unrest, spreading the notion that this nation was truly a nation divided by race, an image which the mainstream media loves to present.

Show me a liberal and I’ll show you a racist.
hell i’m white and i get racist treatment from blacks all the damn time.
You know, we have all faced racism at one time or another for one reason or another. it’s time to stop this stupidity.
Yes, and I’ve seen some anti-Semetic BS as well. But most prejudice occurs WITHIN racial, religious and enthic groups, moslems among the most egregious. Growing up in Rockland County, NY I’ve seen animosity between the Orthodox Jewish sects as well as between native-born Blacks and those from the Caribbean and also Puerto Ricans vs Mexicans, more often than across racial lines.
shot to death by a Latino allegedly in self-defense.It's not alleged.
Like what my Filipino bud tells me always, the most racist people he knows are white liberal Dumocrats.
Correction: "...where a violent African-American teen was beating the snot out of a man, who shot the criminal thug to death in self-defense as confirmed in a trial and by a jury."
Being called a racist can be a badge of honor.
Would that we all could be as racist as this man, Paul Weston: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2kKnzW4d8w
Right. It’ more cultural than skin color. Don’t think whites haven’t in their history experienced racism because they have. All of this is so stupid. It’s certain idiots who push this who are in the wrong and should be held responsible.
very dark people are generally not considered good looking, especially by other blacks...
its not my rule....its not what I think is right...
but that's human nature in a nutshell....
blacks have very low esteem because of it...notice how light skinned blacks seem to do very well....in sports...on tv...movies...politics...
whites or latinos who are not good looking face discrimination as well...
“Inside every liberal is a [racist] totalitarian screaming to get out...
