WEYMOUTH Its no secret: Dominic Giannone III is a communist.
The 37-year-old union boilermaker is the only one of the five candidates running for the District 1 town council seat to highlight his political affiliation. Local elected offices are non-partisan, and generally party politics dont make much of an appearance.
But Giannone, who noted his membership in the Communist Party USA on his campaign website, said he included it partly as a matter of full disclosure to voters and partly because its a central part of his beliefs.
My communist ideas shape who I am and what I believe, he said. The shorthand I like to use is democratizing the economy to meet the needs of working people.

Also from the article...
Giannone was arrested in 1999 for disorderly conduct and trespassing during a protest at Weymouth High School on behalf of convicted murderer Mumia Abu-Jamal. At the time, Giannone told a Patriot Ledger reporter that he supported overthrow of our government through revolution.
My politics have matured since then, he said Tuesday. The principles are still there, but tactically, Id say Ive grown up a lot.
Giannone said he still supports revolutionary change but opposes inciting violence.
He was also arrested and charged with assault and battery on a public official during a fracas at the Democratic National Convention in Boston in 2004. He said he was acquitted of that charge.
So, the bottom line is that this guy is more honest than the President.
Granted it's a union job, so by definition it's part time, but still.
“From each according to his abilities! To each according to his needs! And the Party will determine what those abilities and needs are.”
My first thought - at least he’s an honest communist.
i think i’d run just to put down “Communist Killer Party” on the ballot.
if he’s really being honest, he’s not a real communist. probably just a standard liberal socialist.

Now they are a protected subspecies.
Well, I am certainly against electing a Communist to a public office in America. We have far too many of them in office already.
(But at least this guy’s honest enough to tell us he’s a commie. Give him credit for that much, anyway.)
Free one way ticket to North Korea for him.
I worked with a public union and some of them are communist and proud of it. They got a guy, Mark, elected to State office. One of the union leaders, a communist (Jewish)had lost his father and one of the meetings that I had to attend devoted some time to his memorial. Mark got up and boasted about how he was a former Republican businessman and after he came to know the deceased he was now even more of a communist than the deceased.
One might guess that Giannone plans to dictate the personal affairs of others instead of others dictating to him. Communism is one of several kinds of slavery regimes.
A contract lawyer at my last company had communist parents and he called himself a “Social Democrat” — aka, communist.
The woman who did our kitchen remodel design work was a communist.
I challenged both of them after some discussions and they both admitted it.
The weird thing is they are both self-employed and making boatloads of money.
Communism is a scam that originated with Anglo-American financial elites.
There’s a lot of history there (200+years) that is kept quiet.
Rank-and-file communists are either in the dark or they think of it has being on the side of the thug in control thus being able to make black market money.
I think you’ve got to get up a ways in the organizations to find people that know who they really are working for.
So the Boston slime had oozed south. Decades ago lived in Weymouth. A CA bride in a land that had two seasons, winter and August, and street grids that boggled the mind. I did enjoy fenway park and watching the RedSox play. :-)
