Ted Cruz: Syria, Obamacare ‘tied’
Politico ^ | 8/28/13 5:03 PM EDT | MACKENZIE WEINGER

Posted on 08/28/2013 8:00:39 PM PDT by SoConPubbie

Sen. Ted Cruz on Wednesday tied Obamacare and Syria together, saying the two issues are linked “by an arrogance of this administration.”

The Texas Republican told radio host Rush Limbaugh that it’s clear by the way President Barack Obama and his administration approaches Obamacare and the conflict in Syria that “they don’t believe they’re accountable to the American people.”

“Fundamentally, actually, these two issues, you look at Syria, you look at Obamacare,” Cruz said, according to a transcript on Limbaugh’s site. “They’re tied together. They’re tied together by an arrogance of this administration, that they don’t believe they’re accountable to the American people, and they are going to jam their agenda down the throats of the American people.”

And both cases can be solved in one way, according to Cruz: “The American people have to rise up and hold every elected official accountable.”

“And on both of them, the answer is the same as it was on guns; it’s the same as it is on stopping amnesty, which is the American people have to rise up and hold every elected official accountable, Democrat and Republican,” he added. “Every one of us, including me.”

Limbaugh replied that “the American people ought to have a political party that’s willing to stand up and join them in stopping this, too, and right now, they don’t think they do. They’ve got you, they got [Utah Sen.] Mike Lee, a couple or three others. Everybody else they see is caving.”

(Also on POLITICO: Anti-war Democrats speak up on Syria)

“Well, I agree,” Cruz said. “Sadly, right now, the people who are leading the fight to stop the effort to defund Obamacare are Republicans. It’s not Democrats. That’s a sad state of affairs. I hope it changes. I hope the Republicans stop trying to prevent us from defunding Obamacare and, instead, we come together — and the only way they will is if millions of Americans go to DontFundIt.com, speak up and demand that our elected officials listen to the people.”

As for possibility of military action in Syria, Cruz blasted Obama as “an out-of-control president” who has had an “imperial” and “lawless” presidency.

“Right now, in the U.K., they’re having an emergency session of parliament to consider Syria,” Cruz said. “In Israel the Knesset is considering an emergency session and yet President Obama apparently wants to go to the UN but can’t be bothered to go to United States Congress or the American people and make the case. Look, you know, the authority to declare war rests in Congress, not in an out-of-control president.”

Tyrant B. Hussein Obama, (aka Barry Soetoro), continues his unopposed efforts to expand Totalitarian Obamanation in Liberty-based America.

Where are the Republican opponents of Tyrant Obama?

Why have the Articles of Impeachment for Tyrant Obama not been issued by US House Speaker Boehner, or Pro-Welfare Republicans Cantor or Ryan?

Have House and Senate Pro-Welfare Republicans formed a cave-in pact with Pro-Welfare Democrats to protect Tyrant Obama?

The main thing that Speaker Boehner is afraid of is being blamed for doing his job.

Speaker Boehner’s job now is to shut down the NON-ESSENTIAL parts of the US Federal Government until Obama’care’ is ABOLISHED, and keep it shut down for however long it takes.

Obama will continue to ruin America as long as Boehner is Speaker of the US House of Represenatives.

Four + years of Boehner has proven Boehner to be unfit to combat Tyrant Obama.

It is now up to the Members of the House to replace Boehner so that the new Speaker can shut down the non-essential parts of the US Federal Government ASAP in order to ABOLISH Obama’care.’

The Republican Party wants our money and our votes, but not our conservative principles. GOP stands for nothing but their own self interest.

“And on both of them, the answer is the same as it was on guns; it’s the same as it is on stopping amnesty, which is the American people have to rise up and hold every elected official accountable, Democrat and Republican,” he added. “Every one of us, including me.”

And how do we the people hold elected PsOS accountable? Email them? Call them? Snail mail them? Big deal, they pay no attention. Try to elect better ones? They lie to get elected. Open primaries. The R party gives creeps the money, etc. Or they just lose their moral compass and spine when they get to deecee and get blackmailed or threatened.

Limbaugh replied that “the American people ought to have a political party that’s willing to stand up and join them in stopping this, too, and right now, they don’t think they do. They’ve got you, they got [Utah Sen.] Mike Lee, a couple or three others. Everybody else they see is caving.”

Exactly. (Daniel Greenfield's recent article about Schizophrenic Elephant, the reason why the R party is the steaming pile that it is comes to mind.)

I wish I was optimistic that that would have any effect, but I don't.

At least he is holding firm on everything that is important, including Illegal Immigration.

The same cannot be said for many in the Senate, including Rand Paul with his Amnesty plan.

If Cruz becomes the candidate for president, the dems will instantly find water tight legal and constiutitonal evidence that he is not a NBC since he was born on foreign soil, and they will be correct.

Oh, I like what Cruz says, much of the time. Paul, not.

Paul and take his amnnesty plan and choke on it afaiac. He’s dead to me. That and his support of the MB over the Egyptian new government. Cruz got that one wrong, too.

Cruz and Paul are close allies, and if they do not remain that, we have no hope. Our caucus is already small. If we kick out everyone who we do not agree with 100%, we will lose. Paul had an alternative immigration plan to show there is an alternative. It is politically wise. We do need reforms in a number of areas of immigration. I personally do not think this is the time because of Obama and Harry Reid holding too much of the power, but at some point we have to deal with a horribly outdated system and a porous border.

Maybe, maybe not, that being said, Senator Cruz does not strike me as one who backs away from a fight, so I doubt he will let their lying, scheming actions influence his choices one way or the other.

He's a leader, a Statesman, not a "finger-in-the-wind" politician like most of them.

I also know this; they won't find Constitutional evidence unless the Supreme Court rules that "Natural Born" means two US Citizen parents, because as of right now, there is no definition in the Constitution, no US Law, and no Supreme Court ruling that currently defines "Natural Born" in that manner. It will have to be a case that comes before them.

Paul had an alternative immigration plan to show there is an alternative. It is politically wise.

There is nothing wise, or smart, politically about Amnesty and that is what Rand Paul's "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" plan was all about. Forgiving the Illegality, the misdemeanors, and the felonies committed by a class of criminals and legalizing them.

Rand Paul could be perfect on all other issues, and yet, with this one issue, because of it's complete and utter destructive outcome on this constitutional Democratic Republic, he is a Traitor as is anyone who would give Amnesty and Citizenship ultimately to 30 million+ Undocumented Democrats.

By so doing, there would no longer be a chance for governance by Republicans, and much less Conservatives, and John McCain, Rand Paul, Lindsey Graham, Marco Rubio and every other Amnesty Queen all know this.

And in refusing to face that reality, they have put their own well-being, their own careers, their moneyed-supporters ahead of the welfare of this country and the American People they are supposed to be representing and leading.

That is the definition of a Traitor.

“And on both of them, the answer is the same as it was on guns”

Reading that, one can almost see the liberals recoil in disgust.

Too bad! Don’t like guns, don’t have one, eh?

I don’t call the GOP Ruling Class Judenrats for nothing.

That’s what they are.

That’s why Boehner runs interference for Obama and the Democrats.

That is why the GOP-e are helping to advance the Marxofascist tyranny being shoved down our throats.

They think they will share in the spoils of our absolute subjugation, refusing to acknowledge that what Obama and the MarxoFascists are perpetrating is a political extermination of liberty and this regime’s enemies.

We don’t need immigration “reform” meaning “amnesty”. We just need the border closed and existing laws enforced.

But only us people want it, the elites have their own agendas, all of which are destructive. Paul is just following the libertarian (or shall I say “Liberaltarian”) agenda on this. Let ‘em all come in, willy nilly!.

Outdated system? Nope, an un-enforced system. Due to weak sisters on the R side and traitorous bastards on the left.
