NBC News ^ | August 29, 2013 | Richard Esposito, Matthew Cole and Robert Windrem

Edward Snowden accessed some secret national security documents by assuming the electronic identities of top NSA officials, said intelligence sources.

“Every day, they are learning how brilliant [Snowden] was,” said a former U.S. official with knowledge of the case. “This is why you don’t hire brilliant people for jobs like this. You hire smart people. Brilliant people get you in trouble.”

Well, it says right there in the Constitution that we are to obey our temporary elected officers and their rules, right or wrong!

Oh. Wait...

"This is why you don’t hire brilliant people for jobs like this. You hire smart people. Brilliant people get you in trouble."

It's been happening at the top instead of the bottom. Seeing that the debt-sucking establishment can't really do anything for itself, it's no surprise.

LOL! I'm sure all the other people still left in Snowdens position are taking the compliment very well!

I got called one day by the security officer for a major contractor. He said “you were right”, so I said, thank you, about what?

The chinese had better access to his system then he did.

What's not to trust about unnamed sources, NBC News and "top" NSA officials.

This report is worthless.

The system performed as designed.

Snowden stole the login/passwords of people who had access to the data he was after.

He was a system admin. So he reset their password and then logged in as them.

The system wasn’t smart enough to catch him, or report the event, or raise any other flags.

Piss poor security.

The system still worked as designed. The human element is what failed.

SkyNet 2.7 will fix this problem.

Apparently he's not very brilliant if they have proof that he assumed electronic identities. He's a system admin. They supposedly know what he did. Why would he be considered brilliant. This entire article sounds made up.

Big deal, those in government are posing as legitimate law abiding honorable officials pretending to abide by the Constitutional law.

They got pissed off due to the fact this guy blew the whistle on all their criminal activities.

So basically, our ‘intelligence’ agencies advise not hiring ‘intelligent’ people.

And we wonder why they miss so much....lol.

I’m not convinced Snowden is pure as the driven snow. I will say there are some things we wouldn’t know without him. The things I learned, made me angry at the NSA.

Here are some things that bother me.

1. The NSA couldn’t avoid Snowden.
2. Security was so lax, he could screw them over royally.
3. It’s one thing to spy on foreign agencies, we expect you to. Don’t let some bumblehead out you for it. What security were you running, Keep It From Granny v1.0.0 vintage 1972?
4. Why do you need to capture data from me, a guy who has loved the idea of the United States since the moment I understood what our founding fathers achieved?
5. The NSA, as well as all other government agencies thinks I’m a threat, but don’t elevate the pooper scooper to defcon gazillion with Islamic adherents.

WTF

This agency has literally destroyed it’s street credibility with this and that stupid ass comment since this all started. We knew they were lying when they said it. Why not stop digging. The hole you’re in is deep enough.
