A 1-year-old girl is dead and the child's 18-year-old babysitter is in critical condition after a shooting Thursday night in Central City, the New Orleans Police Department said. Police say two men are being sought in connection with the shooting.
The toddler and babysitter were walking in the 2800 block of South Saratoga Street when shots rang out just before 8:20 p.m., according to the NOPD. The woman, who was shot in the back, rushed inside a relative's nearby home with the child, and someone inside called 911, NOPD spokesman Frank Robertson said.
Robertson said the woman was in surgery at University Hospital at 10 p.m. and is expected to survive.

I’m pretty sure they must have been white men that did the shooting since the story didn’t mention any descriptions of the two SEEN running from the scene. The newsmedia never wants to let people know that white men are committing crimes with guns, you know?

Two black men were seen running away. The cops have already questioned the occupants of a house nearby.
You have to understand the absolute inhumanity prevalent in the black lower class here. Drug dealers and those who KNOW they are targets for revenge have taken to bringing their kids with them for drug deals, etc, believing the presence of a child will protect them. If it were ever true-it is no longer.
IF this girl was the target, she may have thought the same way. It is also possible that the baby was the target ( dispute over paternity/money) or that senseless killing was needed for street cred. Either way,New Orleans is a shooting gallery and the ‘you’re safe if you’re not involved in crime’mantra is a lie. Downtown/central city is a pesthole of criminals and not even 1/3 of the crime is reported. The French Quarter is under attack nightly with assaults. A man and woman were attacked a few days ago-his face was stomped on and he needed plates to reconstruct his jaw! 6am-Dauphine and Iberville-and yet the tourists are lured here.
I don’t walk the streets of New Orleans EVER-haven’t in over 20 years-not even the streets of Jefferson parish at night. Tell everyone you know to stay away. You are ‘meat on the street’ here, and the predators are waiting. STAY HOME-don’t feed the animals.
I have kin that live in nearby Hammond La. None of them ever go into NO unless they absolutely have to.
I wouldn’t go there with someone ELSE’S platoon of marines...

One, and now two, violent crimes a year is not a quiet block.
Sad. Long ago, my family had annual spring vacation in NOLA and when I was 12 I begged to and was allowed to walk around the Quarter on my own. I was a very small girl with a very big spirit of adventure. And the Quarter was perfectly safe for me to roam.
I drove thru New Orleans in ‘93, had a nice chat with the old black man who ran the parking lot near St. Louis Cathedral, reminisced about my childhood adventures. He told me quite sternly to not even think about living there or even visiting for more than a couple of hours. City “not safe for you anymore.” Tragic for him to have to say that. But that’s how blacks were in my childhood. Caring, honest, sweet-spirited people.
And now? In my small northwest city , a WW2 Vet was murdered by two black highschoolers last week, reported in national papers. We have fewer than 1.5% black population here. A few of them ran thru my apartment parking lot last week at 2 a.m., shouting and shooting at one another. I’m far, far from any black neighborhood. Police came 20 minutes later.
The pile of dead white people (especially babies) killed by feral black yutes is getting really large.
This particular case appears to be black on black.
I love New Orleans, the history, architecture, cuisine, music and I have gone there all my life for great fun weekends. No more, never again! I have written it off just like I have written off Mexico. I am sad about it too.
Add to that the Decadence Festival this weekend in the French Quarter. The Decadence Festival is a weekend for queers to roam the streets of the Quarter dressed outrageously and acting out their version of pornography right in the streets for all to see, all with the blessings of the New Orleans Tourist Commission. In fact, they invited the homos who just got “married” to come to N.O. for their honeymoon. They also make fun of Christians and Catholics in particular, and do so in the most vile, insulting way possible. I was born and raised in N.O., but I go as seldom as possible. I miss the old city I grew up in with its charm and history. But it’s no wonder that there are so many murders and disrespect for human life. In addition, Planned Parenthood is building a huge “clinic” not far from where this murder happened. Sadly, murdering children is no big deal any longer. BTW, this PP clinic is surrounded by black churches in the area.
Maybe PP wants to reduce the black population.
Maybe? That is EXACTLY what they want to do. Their founder, Margaret Sanger, built the first PP in Harlem, and was a big proponent of eugenics. One of her many quotes: “Birth control must lead ultimately to a cleaner race.”
Google Margaret Sanger (or whatever search engine you like) and read some of her quotes and ideas. She even gave a speech before the women’s branch of the KKK. Very enlightening reading.
Once you get the taste for blood, you don't care much about the skin color.
The pile of black men/women/babies is probably much higher (in regard to population percentages) than the pile of white ones.
I would imagine he pile of dead aborted black/half black babies is the tallest.
