Forcing a person to perform work that is against their conscience is SLAVERY. People need to stand up and say, “I refuse to have a court impose slavery upon me.”

Yep, they just need to get out of Oregon, period. It’s gone.

Ping me when you re-open. I will buy a cake online.

Count me in too. And I'll be in the market for Christmas cookies soon. LOTS of Christmas cookies.

I’m talking real-world, not debate-society world.

re: “Americans have the right to freely exercise their religion. Forcing neutral exercise of religion or forcing liberal exercise of religion is NOT free exercise of religion.”

You are correct, but here’s the thing. The Courts have redefined “religious freedom” in the First Amendment as only applying to churches (for now). They have denied that individuals and their businesses have the right to religious freedom.

Therefore you, as an individual, may not appeal to your personal religious convictions to oppose doing business with someone who supports or represents something you disagree with for religious reasons. According to the Courts, once you do business with the general public, you have abdicated your right to religious freedom in the marketplace.

Somehow, if your business sells to the general public, you must now do business with whomever walks through the door. All of this goes back, of course to the anti-discrimination laws.

Once you give one particular group a special protected status, then there are going to be more and more of these groups added to the list. First is was about racial discrimination, then gender, and now same-sex marriage. Once the government got into defining special classes of people for protection, now we’ve got what we’ve got.

And churches are not far behind. If a church rents its buildings or facilities to anyone other than church members, they too will be open to charges of discriminating against gays if they refuse to rent to them.

They should move their business to Texas.

From the "comments" section....

Deby DePreta · Serves them right. Who wants bigots in their neighborhood? I, for one will never patronize any business they have.

Uhhhhh...doesn't that make YOU a bigot?

If restaurants can refuse service to people with no shoes or certain attire...? It seems to me you can refuse service for other reasons, also.

They need to get as far away from Sodom, Oregon as possible.
With the exception of Seattle and San Francisco, no other city on the West Coast caters to the fags as bad as a Portland. For those that are not familiar with Gresham, it’s a suberb of Portland, Oregon, aka Sodom, as I like to call it.

A cake full of rat poison or Nitroglycerin is not exactly a “positive” cake now is it?

Syrup of Ipecac. Works every time.

If that's too immediate, A laxative might be more delayed. Either could be blamed on the potato salad or something they ate earlier...

This is tolerance and diversity according to the "new morality", as anticipated by George Orwell, as in "love is hate", "war is peace", "freedom is slavery"":
"Tolerance is oppression!"
"Diversity is conformity!"

Everyone, don’t read too much into this as this being all the sodomites’ fault, as fascist as they can be. Keep in mind that, despite what the water-carrying media tells us, we ARE still in the economic dumps. There is every possibility that this bakery would have had problems in the poor economy we’re in, despite any political attack. Businesses all over are going belly up under HomObama, and the little loss in business by the few upset sodomites is likely negligible.

That being said, the sodomites will crow over this claimed “victory.” Hopefully, these business people can be successful from home.

I don’t think advocating food tampering is entirely helpful, with all due respect.

It’s actually a criminal offense.

The same as how I feel about paying the taxes that enable the State to lord over former citizens. Want to know how it'll fly to not pay protection money, ahem, "taxes"?

...we're almost at the end of the line.

I agree 100%. I figured in 6 months at most it'll be crashing bad. Of course my timing has been very wrong before, but things are so outrageous now it's just a hop, skip and a jump to mandatory sodomy and live cannibalism in the streets. As government programs~

The conservatives who opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 were correct. While the act did many good things, it also destroyed forever freedom of association in America.

And in a modern court, when there is a dispute between freedom of religion (in the US Constitution) and freedom of sexual activity (not in the Constitution), freedom of sex will win. The US Supreme Court made that clear when they banned laws against homosexuality. Does your ‘right’ to stick your penis in someone’s butt trump my right to worship God? In modern America, the answer is yes...

At a minimum, those states that do NOT make homosexuals a protected class are going to come under assault to add them. As conservatives, we need to fight to repeal special rights for homosexuals on a state by state basis.

There is something really wrong when a business has to go underground just because of their religious values.
