I've never heard of semi-auto ARs being issued in the Army, although some full-auto rifles had old receivers marked AR-15 in 1989. Never heard of an enlisted pay grade above E-9, either.

Sorry.. meant MOS Echo13 (E13)... I was E-5 :p

Uhm.. we had no full auto when I came in (Only the 3 shot burst, or single shot option).. they were all Colt AR-15s.. M-16s were not a choice anymore.
