‘Bible-Thumping…B**ch’: Bakers Who Refused to Make Gay Couple’s Wedding Cake Shut Down
The Blaze ^ | Sep. 2, 2013 | Billy Hallowell

Posted on 09/02/2013 2:09:27 PM PDT by LucianOfSamasota

In May, TheBlaze told you about Aaron and Melissa Klein, owners of Sweet Cakes by Melissa, an Oregon-based bakery that has fallen under intense scrutiny. Throughout 2013, the Christian couple and their business have been in the midst of a media firestorm after refusing to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple.

From threats to vicious phone calls and e-mails, the Klein family has been inundated with angry responses. Now, Aaron and Melissa have announced that they are shutting down their shop.

In a brief phone interview earlier this month, Melissa told TheBlaze that the couple has continued to face upheaval following their faith-based decision. Just days after we spoke, she and her husband announced that this past weekend was the family’s last at its current location.

The business will be transitioning, with the Kleins operating, instead, from their home.

“This will be our last weekend at the shop we are moving our business to an in home bakery,” read a post on the company’s Facebook page on Aug. 30.

Yeah, I have a feeling the road is just going to rougher for these folks. Especially since the article mentions a lot of the vendors/groups they’ve done business with have also been pressured.

Decent Americans have been letting the country be destroyed for 5 years now.

I have yet to see a united front against this crap.

I suspect this business was targeted precisely because of their views. There was a similar case not long ago when a florist who was well known for his traditional beliefs had a visit from an “unsuspecting” gay couple. It was a setup from minute one, of course.

Just for the general FYI, here’s a link to the bakery’s website:

http://www.sweetcakesweb.com/

It’s pretty obvious they are a religious family. I have no doubt they were targeted on that basis.

Beautiful pic of the family, btw. It really shows how sick and hate-filled the “tolerant” opposition is when they wish harm on this couple or their kids.

Good for this couple for not backing down. I hope they find a way to keep doing what they love.

Aaron and Melissa Klein probably don’t have the financial resources to fight this injustice. But I also suspect that they do not understand that Section 1 of the 14th Amendment (14A) prohibits the states from abridging the priviliges and immunities of citizens.

And not only have the states amended the Constitution to protect religious expression as evidenced by the 1st Amendment, but the states have never amended the Constitution to protect so-called gay rights. So pro-gay activist justices aside, I believe that the Supreme Court would ultimately have decided this case in their favor under 14A.

I think we saw that with Chick-Fil-A and Hobby Lobby.

>>I have yet to see a united front against this crap.

Because there isn’t one. Good people are busy doing the work of three as their bosses tell them to “do more for less” each year as inflation eats our wallets. They don’t have time to go counter-protest a bunch of fags protesting a bakery.

Until the wheels come off the economy and all labor is rendered worthless by the bank-controlled economy, the good people will continue to be angry on the weekend and still be at work to punch the clock on Monday morning.

In other words, we are slaves already. The good news is that once the economy collapses, the Progs won’t need the homos, single moms, or blacks anymore. And we know what Marxists always do with the people that carried the signs for them in the revolution.

If businesses are a public domain, why aren’t LBGT demanding service from Muslim owned businesses that are held by people who would kill them?
Or whites going into black owned businesses and demanding equal service?
