‘Bible-Thumping…B**ch’: Bakers Who Refused to Make Gay Couple’s Wedding Cake Shut Down
The Blaze ^ | Sep. 2, 2013 | Billy Hallowell

Posted on 09/02/2013 2:09:27 PM PDT by LucianOfSamasota

In May, TheBlaze told you about Aaron and Melissa Klein, owners of Sweet Cakes by Melissa, an Oregon-based bakery that has fallen under intense scrutiny. Throughout 2013, the Christian couple and their business have been in the midst of a media firestorm after refusing to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple.

From threats to vicious phone calls and e-mails, the Klein family has been inundated with angry responses. Now, Aaron and Melissa have announced that they are shutting down their shop.

In a brief phone interview earlier this month, Melissa told TheBlaze that the couple has continued to face upheaval following their faith-based decision. Just days after we spoke, she and her husband announced that this past weekend was the family’s last at its current location.

The business will be transitioning, with the Kleins operating, instead, from their home.

“This will be our last weekend at the shop we are moving our business to an in home bakery,” read a post on the company’s Facebook page on Aug. 30.

Of course I don’t know of too many lesbian couples that would want to order a religious-themed cake.

Plenty would. They are attending ear tickling churches that tell them unrepentant sin is just fine. A religious cake would be..........just lovely!

Being turned down because of real faith, well, that is another story. No ear tickling there.

Yea, me too, I boycott GM for those reasons as well.

(Actually I’ve been boycotting them since the early 80’s when I made the mistake of buying a car called a Citation, which may have been the biggest POS ever produced!)

The good new, is that this kind of mass-insanity is self-correcting. The bad news is how it happens.

Never in the history of the world have homosexuals received the protections they have in the United States.

Yet all they want to do is burn the country down, starting with the very people who fought and died for the laws that protect them - even though those fighting and dying disapproved of them.

The karma for such treachery is simple. Far beyond who wants to put who's what where, the spiritual foulness of such unwarranted hatred and moral depravity utterly destroys those who act in this way.

How did St. Mario Puzo put it?

"Fools Die."

“I’d get out of Oregon if I were them.”

From my experience as a Californian, who, on occasion visits Oregon and Washington; they are much farther down the Marxist Road than even we are. And despite the “calfornicate” comments, both these states owe their Marxist leadership (as we do in CA) to Northeastern US commie “immigrants.”

Here’s one of the worst of the Immigrants, Vera Katz, longtime mayor of Portland

“I’d prefer some way of attacking that ruling rather than using a work-around.”

My bet would be that they are simply trying to get a handle on their expenses. No doubt their landlord doesn’t like the commotion, so moving home is a recovery action.

I hope they get the zoning, health permits, etc. to operate a business out of their home.

It's bad enough what you have to go through with local and county governments to open a business...but one being opened in a home gives all the local government jerks and power-loving inspectors, etc. a field day to harrass this couple with permits, regulations, inspections, licenses and fees of all kinds.

Yep, our elected officials are all great lovers of small business, you betcha!

So, the Marxists usually dispose of them quickly.

That's the thing that the LIVs and other dependents of the Demoncrat party don't get. Once (if) the conservative resistance is removed, next up are going to be THEM.

They should have made the cake and put Jesse jackass’ secret sauce in it. The special couple would get a special cake. The firemen my father use to work with made a meatloaf out of dog food for one of the guys. He actually ate it and enjoyed it until they told him what was in it.

They should have baked the lezzie wedding cake and be done with it. This is what I would have done. You deal with the pervs once or twice and it is over.

That’s a lot easier than having a wedding facility, a place used for wedding and having to deal with gays wanting to use it. This means lots of headaches with these headcases and contacts with them. I would definitely try to avoid this situation. I would state all contact is by email and you must fill out a form stating who is getting married and what ages they are. Once you see it is two gays then you proceed from there.

I would tell them (gays) 100% cash up front and give them a strict contract to sign

I personally do not dislike a person unless they have insulted me directly. I do not approve of the lifestyle I believe it is a sin, but I am not going to hate a person for it. They will answer to God. I had a coworker who is a lesbian and she boasted about her sex life with her partner and always stating how the right wing wants to stop a woman’s right to choice. Which I don’t understand why is she preoccupied with it since she is a lesbian. She is pro choice but she told me people should not own more than 1 car (go figure).

To top it all off: She is Bi-Polar, and it was hell working with her.

I’ve been trying to figure out what the business model should be for Christian wedding suppliers

How about a GBLT fee, say just south of $250,000.00 non refundable and paid in advance on every order-—kind of like a surety bond. Then subcontract the h3ll out of it. Every body would then be happy.

A sign should be posted.......

“We reserve the right to refuse service”

But the shop needs to check their states discrinination laws. Some states allow to refuse service and others don’t
i.e., CA, NY...Or?

It is disappointing that Christians did not support this bakery, even after the heroic couple supposedly became a national cause celebre. Where were the Christian customers!??? Why were the homosexual boycotters able to shut this thing down?

Went to the website. . . too bad it didn’t have a link to donate to the cause. I am sure they have legal bills. What a nice looking family. God will bless them. A jewel for their crowns.
