The Ram is Media and Persia... (Iraq, Syria, and Iran)

He-goat is Grecia a symbolic reference to a type of government.

Greece was never, in ancient times, a united state, but consisted of a large number of separate states. These were essentially of two types, (a) city-states, in which a city dominated the adjacent territory whose free population constituted its citizenship, or (b) confederacies, in which neighboring cities or districts combined into political organizations which we may call federal states. http://www.biblestudytools.com/dictionary/greece-graecia/

That ancient Greece is no more...but one can see it in America. And the attack being planned comes from the air and sea...

Thanks, EBH. It seems you are looking at an additional interpretation. I’ll think about it. I appreciate your time.

Greece was never, in ancient times, a united state...

Actually, it was under Alexander the Great! He was King of Macedonia, one of the many states of Grecia, and under his power ALL of Grecia was united, along with Egypt, Asia Minor, Babylonia, Syria, Persia, Medes, and even into India. When Alexander abruptly died (and who doesn't really?) at the peak of his power, his generals split his Kingdom into FOUR parts.

Two of these four parts, Ptolemy's Egypt and Seleucus Babylonia and Syria, would vex Judea greatly for the next two-three centuries until the rise of the Romans.

Daniel would definitely want the Jews to know what was to become, and it did EXCATLY as his visions and the Angel Gabriel told him it would.
