It's time for a new party. Republicans can go the way of the Whigs so far as I'm concerned.

A new party can take the best elements of conservatism and libertarian-ism and attract enough base from the GOP and Independents to obliterate the Democratic Party.

The only problem I have Libertarian is its Libertine-isms. I will not join myself to a political force that turns a blind eye to the corrupting influence of drugs and sexual perversions.

"I think Drudge captured it succinctly, authoritarian versus libertarian."

Unfortunately, neither has a clue about economics.

The authoritarian parties wants to continue to promote free trade thereby offshoring our industries and building up those of china and the third world. And the FED will continue diluting our currency to try to spur innovation and investment here.

The libertarian party also wants free trade, except they'd stop diluting our currency and put us on a gold standard resulting in an economic deflationary depression the likes of which the world has never known.

A choice between slow death or fast devastating suicide.

The only substantive reason for supporting Obama in anything is that they are as big a POS as he is.

“Mark Levin says he would vote for an orange juice container over a democrat.”

That isn’t what he said. Change democrat to Owebama and it would be correct. There is a big difference.

Well it’s not the Republican party anymore is it? It’s the RINO party. What needs to happen is a new party needs to be formed - maybe call it...The REPUBLICAN party. It’s like the Rock and Roll hall of fame now. It started out good, then they started going off track as liberals infected it, so they started voting in karaoke lip-syncers like Madonna, disco singers like Donna Summer, absolutely nothing to do with RnR and everything to do with how liberal you are. So one person suggested a new one be started called “ The REAL Rock and Roll hall of fame”. Same thing has to happen with the Republican party. The name has been commandeered, stolen by the left and it is not theirs to take.

I said it more to point out how finished I am with the Republican Party more than anything.

Other than Reagan, the Republican Party has NEVER been anything to write home about.

Not if most freepers have their say. Many here support no tolerance for anything associated with libertarianism. All the libertarians want is to legalize weed according to the experts here. They dismissively call them Liberal-tarians.

Not sure in what universe these Rino-free, Liberal-tarian free groups start a new party that wins an election in my lifetime.

When the Whigs created a new party, the existing parties didn’t have such a strangle-hold of the machine that keeps them in power. Look at what the IRS did and continues to do to TEA party activists.

And within the thread is the answer. People cannot even discern the difference between libertarian and Libertarian, and go jabbering off with the attention span of an Irish Setter. Many will do whatever the TV herds them into come fall, and after all, you’ll only have “two” choices on the ballot anyway.

Concur with Drudge. Why vote Republican when they have demonstrated that they delight in stabbing us in the back (and the front) over and over again!

They have demonstrated countless times that they don't care one wit about us until they need money or our vote. Once they get that then they do WHATEVER they want!

Send Boehner's kid to be the first to die in the Syrian cesspool. Send Mehgan McCain off to Syria!

You will not get my sons to die for your political chutzpah!

libertarians are scum of the Earth

What an asinine knee-jerk statement.

It is authoritarians who are the scum of the earth, whether Democrat, Republican, or otherwise.

liberaltopians want to legalize all drugs for all people of any age, gay marriage, open borders etc etc

liberaltarians should never be taken seriously in political arguments.

Drudge is right. The line is now authoritarian vs. libertarian and the Republican and Democrat parties anymore are both authoritarian socialist parties.
