With tensions between the United States and Russia already strained to the breaking point, President Barack Obama is preparing to press Russian President Vladimir Putin even more by meeting with Russian gay rights groups and human rights activists during this week’s trip to St. Petersburg for the G-20 summit.
According to BuzzFeed, rights groups, including Coming Out, a St. Petersburg-based LGBT group, have been invited to meet with Obama on Thursday. …
The meeting with the human rights groups is not the first time President Obama has met with Russian opposition activists. He last met with non-governmental organizations representing various groups in 2009. But Thursday’s meeting comes as the Russian government is cracking down on human rights groups, which it has accused of being in the pay of the U.S. government, BuzzFeed reports. …

WTF is wrong with Obama? Common courtesy is to not thumb your nose at your host, and now is a particularly bad time to do it.

I think the anti-gay stance in Russia has fairly wide popular support. And this stupid act by our idiot president will do two things:
1. Make the average Russian despise him more, and
2. Improve Putin’s standing in his own country.
I’m sure Putin has an extremely low opinion of the fag in Chief.
Putin could come over here and meet with tea party groups targeted by the IRS.
The First Gay President may end up getting arrested by Vladimir Putin for promoting homosexuality in Russia.

It looks like he is bound and determined to thoroughly pi$$ off the government of every other country on earth (except those fine African “people’s democratic republics” of course).
Why will that “create pressure on Putin”?
His policy is overwhelmingly popular in his country, having someone whom the FM called “a monkey with a hand grenade” working to subvert the policy will make it MORE popular.
At this point, I think he should.
Putin can actually prevent such a meeting from taking place.
