King: "Common challenges we face as Muslims and Christians necessitate...(anti-Semite "moderate")

AMMAN (Petra)-His Majesty King Abdullah II on Tuesday received participants in the two-day conference titled: "The Challenges Facing Arab Christians" which kicked off in Amman today.

His Majesty Said: "The common challenges and difficulties, that we face as Muslims and Christians, necessitate concerted efforts and full cooperation among us all to overcome. We should agree on a unifying, rather than divisive, code of conduct." The king added: "Our region is undergoing a state of violence and intra-religious, sectarian, as well as ideological conflicts. We have for long warned against the adverse consequences of such a situation, which produces patterns of behaviour that are alien to our traditions and humanitarian and cultural heritage based on the principles of moderation, tolerance, coexistence and acceptance of others."

His Majesty said: "We support every effort to preserve the historical Arab Christian identity, and safeguard the right to worship freely, based on a rule in both the Christian and Islamic faiths that underlines love of God and love of neighbour, as embodied in the 'A Common Word' initiative." The King called upon participants to promote the process of inter-faith dialogue and "focus on maximizing the common elements that unite the followers of different religions and sects," pointing out to several initiatives launched by Jordan, such as the Amman Message, a Common Word and the World Interfaith Harmony Week.

His Majesty said: "We are proud that Jordan constitutes a unique model of coexistence and fraternity between Muslims and Christians," noting that "Arab Christians are the closest to understanding Islam and its true values. We call upon them at this stage to defend Islam, which is subject to a lot of injustice because some are ignorant of the essence of this faith, which preaches tolerance and moderation, and rejects extremism and isolationism." Following is the full text of His Majesty's speech: In the Name of God, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful Dear brothers, I am pleased to welcome you in your country, Jordan, and salute and thank you for all your good efforts.

Our region is undergoing a state of violence and intra-religious, sectarian, as well as ideological conflicts. We have for long warned against the adverse consequences of such a situation, which produces patterns of behaviour that are alien to our traditions and humanitarian and cultural heritage based on the principles of moderation, tolerance, coexistence and acceptance of others. These common challenges and difficulties, that we face as Muslims and Christians, necessitate concerted efforts and full cooperation among us all to overcome. We should agree on a unifying, rather than divisive, code of conduct.

Our main concern is that such an entrenched negative perception and the state of isolation between the followers of the different religions might undermine the social fabric. This requires all of us to focus on education, and the way we bring up our children to protect the generations to come. This is the responsibility of families and other educational institutions, as well as mosques and churches.

We support every effort to preserve the historical Arab Christian identity, and safeguard the right to worship freely, based on a rule in both the Christian and Islamic faiths that underlines love of God and love of neighbour, as embodied in the "A Common Word" initiative.

Therefore, I call upon you to promote the process of inter-faith dialogue and focus on maximizing the common elements that unite the followers of different religions and sects. Towards that end, we have been proactive in putting forward several initiatives such as the Amman Message, a Common Word and the World Interfaith Harmony Week.

We are proud that Jordan constitutes a unique model of coexistence and fraternity between Muslims and Christians. We also believe that the protection of the rights of Christians is a duty rather than a favour. Arab Christians have played a key role in building Arab societies, and defending the just causes of our nation.

Arab Christians are the closest to understanding Islam and its true values. We call upon them at this stage to defend Islam, which is subject to a lot of injustice because some are ignorant of the essence of this faith, which preaches tolerance and moderation, and rejects extremism and isolationism.

Jerusalem, which is, regrettably, subject to the worst forms of Judaisation today, stands witness to fourteen centuries of deep, solid and fraternal relations between Muslims and Christians, enhanced by the Pact of Omar [ibn al-Khattab], and promoted by my grandfather, Sharif Hussein bin Ali, may God bless his soul. My father, late King Al-Hussein, and I continued to follow in his footsteps, with God’s help.

We all have the duty to defend the Arab identity of Jerusalem, and protect its Islamic and Christian holy sites. Arab Christians should cling to their Arab identity. It is our collective duty to stand in the face of all practices aimed at displacing or marginalising them.

In conclusion, I wish you all the success, hoping that you will reach workable recommendations that I will consult thereon with brotherly Arab leaders and the international community to provide the support required to implement them.

Peace, God’s mercy and blessings be upon you.

Full title: King: "Common challenges we face as Muslims and Christians necessitate concerted efforts to overcome"

And, if you didn't catch it buried in the middle of the text: Jerusalem, which is, regrettably, subject to the worst forms of Judaisation today, stands witness to fourteen centuries of deep, solid and fraternal relations between Muslims and Christians, enhanced by the Pact of Omar [ibn al-Khattab], and promoted by my grandfather, Sharif Hussein bin Ali, may God bless his soul.

The text of the Pact of Umar:

In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate!

This is a writing to Umar from the Christians of such and such a city. When You [Muslims] marched against us [Christians],: we asked of you protection for ourselves, our posterity, our possessions, and our co-religionists; and we made this stipulation with you, that we will not erect in our city or the suburbs any new monastery, church, cell or hermitage; that we will not repair any of such buildings that may fall into ruins, or renew those that may be situated in the Muslim quarters of the town; that we will not refuse the Muslims entry into our churches either by night or by day; that we will open the gates wide to passengers and travellers; that we will receive any Muslim traveller into our houses and give him food and lodging for three nights; that we will not harbor any spy in our churches or houses, or conceal any enemy of the Muslims. [At least six of these laws were taken over from earlier Christian laws against infidels.]

That we will not teach our children the Qu'ran [some nationalist Arabs feared the infidels would ridicule the Qu'ran; others did not want infidels even to learn the language]; that we will not make a show of the Christian religion nor invite any one to embrace it; that we will not prevent any of our kinsmen from embracing Islam, if they so desire. That we will honor the Muslims and rise up in our assemblies when they wish to take their seats; that we will not imitate them in our dress, either in the cap, turban, sandals, or parting of the hair; that we will not make use of their expressions of speech, nor adopt their surnames [infidels must not use greetings and special phrases employed only by Muslims]; that we will not ride on saddles, or gird on swords, or take to ourselves arms or wear them, or engrave Arabic inscriptions on our rings; that we will not sell wine [forbidden to Muslims]; that we will shave the front of our heads; that we will keep to our own style of dress, wherever we may be; that we will wear girdles round our waists [infidels wore leather or cord girdles; Muslims, cloth and silk].

That we will not display the cross upon our churches or display our crosses or our sacred books in the streets of the Muslims, or in their market-places; that we will strike the clappers in our churches lightly [wooden rattles or bells summoned the people to church or synagogue]; that we will not recite our services in a loud voice when a Muslim is present; that we will not carry Palm branches [on Palm Sunday] or our images in procession in the streets; that at the burial of our dead we will not chant loudly or carry lighted candles in the streets of the Muslims or their market places; that we will not take any slaves that have already been in the possession of Muslims, nor spy into their houses; and that we will not strike any Muslim.

All this we promise to observe, on behalf of ourselves and our co-religionists, and receive protection from you in exchange; and if we violate any of the conditions of this agreement, then we forfeit your protection and you are at liberty to treat us as enemies and rebels.

In other words: dhimmitude...

Here’s what I want to see.

A full scale Broadway style production.

To the theme song and in all it’s glory of:

“Springtime for Hitler” from “The Producers” 1967 ?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHmYIo7bcUw

I’ve taken the liberty to re-write the words.

“Springtime for Islam and the Middle East”

The Caliphate’s in trouble
What a sad, sad story
We need the 12th Imam, to restore
Its former glory

Where oh where is he?
Where could that man be?
We looked around and then we found
The Jihad for you and me….. and ……..now ……..it’s

Springtime for Islam and the Middle East
Mohamed is happy.. not gay
We’re bombing at a faster pace
Look out, here comes the master race

Springtime for Islam and the Middle East
Winter for Jews at last
Springtime for Islam and the Middle East
Come now Kafirs, join us in our trance

I was born in Ali Baba
That is why they call me Ali Baba
Don’t be stupid, get respect
Come and join the winning sect

Springtime for Islam and the Middle East
Five times, the right times to pray
Swords of the martyrs will rule the day
Sharia and Islam, the only way

Springtime for Islam and the Middle East
Stonings and dhimmis once more

Springtime for Islam and the Middle East
Means that soon we’ll be going
We’ve always been going
You know we will win this war
