This is correct. He wants a wider war with more involvement. Including boots on the ground.

Obviously this resolution is worthless without the words "thermonuclear war" somewhere in it.

The resolution doesn’t give his buddies, Al Qaeda, enough help to suit him.

Hello David, Would you like to play Global Thermo-Nuclear War?

“Guess it’s because it doesn’t include nuking Damascus.”

If we’re to get involved there at all I’d prefer that we did nuke the Arab world.For the last Forty years they have caused nothing but trouble for the Civilised world.

I love the fact that media is referring to a ‘3 hour Senate meeting’?

They say it as though 3 hours is far too long for a Congressperson to have to work.

Until Obamacare, average working Americans worked an 8 hour day—5 days a week!!!!

Beating up Obama from every direction and ideology in both chambers is good politics for the GOP.

Win or lose the vote, leave Obama broken and bruised with zero remaining political capital.

“Thank you for your service in Viet Nam. You set a fine example.”
______________________________________________

What example would that be?

Good grief, can we ever get past the point where we don’t have to preface every damn comment about this guy with the tired and worn out: “I applaud his military service...blah...blah...blah...”

His military service has nada to do with his current anti-American actions! Do you remember McCain-Feingold? He sponsored law to take away other Americans right to free speech! I could give a rats a$$ about his military service!

No one has considered that Syria’s Air Defense systems were supplied by Russia, and probably manned by Russians. What will happen when we start killing Russians??

Rebuffing Obama, McCain a No-Vote on Syria

Sen. John McCain pulled his support Wednesday for the Senate resolution authorizing limited strikes in Syria, a blow to President Barack Obama’s campaign to get congressional approval for military action in the war-torn country.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
I question whether this is a blow and a rebuff to Obama. This may be more of the good cop/bad cop routine that Obama and McCain have been carrying on for weeks.
I can't believe the guy is 51. Seems like yesterday that he was Ferris Bueller playing hooky at the Art Institute of Chicago.
"His military service has nada to do with his current anti-American actions!"
You're right. It doesn't.
Admiration for his behavior as a POW should not interfere with the judgment of his behavior since then and his incompetence to serve as a Senator.
He exceeded his level of incompetence (the Peter Principle) after he left Viet Nam. If he's still as honorable as he was then, he should recognize his own incompetence, get out of the Senate, and make way for someone who can do the job. Unfortunately he's not smart enough to do this, and his constituents should do it for him.
You're right, Art. McCain is now a national disgrace and should be kicked out of office.
As for allowing a man's fine military service to interfere with judgment, the Republicans made the same mistake when they nominated Bob Dole for the Presidency.
