Putin said U.S. congressional approval without a U.N. Security Council resolution would be an act of aggression, and accused U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry of lying by playing down the role of the militant group al Qaeda with rebel forces.

” playing down the role of the militant group al Qaeda with rebel forces. “

see post 117: “Re: Syria, the Obama adm has at least 3 shell-games going on simultaneously, and you put your hand on one of them.”

FN, you just pointed out one of the other shell games. Both Kerry and McCain don’t ever open their mouths to talk about Syria without pretending/lying that there is a moderate, secular rebel force that has any prayer of forging a secular government to replace Assad. At best if Assad falls, there will be another civil war

The third shell game is that this will be a “limited strike.” Once Congress votes on it, Obama will take carte blanche and beat Congress into submission.

Why I call them shell games is because the Obama adm and the designated rinos have been deliberately conflating these 3 separate issues with purpose to deceive.
