Secretary of State John Kerry said at Wednesday’s hearing that Arab counties have offered to pay for the entirety of unseating President Bashar al-Assad if the United States took the lead militarily.

“With respect to Arab countries offering to bear costs and to assess, the answer is profoundly yes,” Kerry said. “They have. That offer is on the table.”

Asked by Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.) about how much those countries would contribute, Kerry said they have offered to pay for all of a full invasion.

They want to pay for an invasion? We’ll send them the tanks and THEY can go at it themselves.

Typical posturing BS! This is Kerry's way of saying we do not need our "traditional" allies by BS-ing that our Arab "friends" are fully behind us and will even pay for us to sacrifice our military to give Obama a crisis which he needs to desperately not waste.

A despicable lie of epic proportions. Kerry should have been asked to tell which Arab countries are willing to do this and with whom he has spoken and with what regard to how much and when.

After 9/11 many Saudis were flown out of the US; after the Boston bombing a Saudi suspect was ‘released’; “O” bowing down before a Saudi during a trip after his election said it all - - our country has been subverted from within by forces from without . . . I fear we may have been conquered even before 9/11 as we became Hessian Mercenaries for a variety of muslim sects and their plethora of internal squabbles . . .

The USA now has a rent- a- military.

That should help recruiting.

Impeach the whole damned bunch of them along with the traitorous RINOs who voted to support Skeeter in his war game.

Doesn’t Russia have more oil than the Middle East?

Likely. Heck, the US has more proven reserves than Saudi Arabia. But the environmentals wont let us get to our own oil.

Saudi and Qatar would jump at the chance to build a Nat Gas pipeline through Syria. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’d offered to buy the services of the US.

Duh, how do you think a broke ass country like ours is affording all this war stuff? The Saudis have already been writing checks. Count on it.

“Secretary of State John Kerry said at Wednesday’s hearing that Arab counties have offered to pay for the entirety of unseating President Bashar al-Assad if the United States took the lead militarily.”

Translation: As in ALL U.S. military activity in the Middle East, the U.S. continues to be the “hired help” for the Saudis (a dictatorship) and the emirates of the Persian Gulf (dictatorships), in pursuit of THEIR agendas, with our politicians fooling our public that it is, and will be OUR agenda, when Middle East history shows we are NEVER in the end in control of the political ground game or what comes next - that is always in the hands of local interests and interests in the region, and the results, the long term results have NEVER proven to be in our long term interest - not in Afghanistan in the 1980s, not once in Iraq (we gave Iran ten more years to beef up THEIR ground game in Iraq) and not in Iraq again (Iraq and Iran have never been as closely embraced as they are today).

Why has it ever been in our interests to take sides in the regional proxy wars between the two biggest modern expresssions of radical fundamentalist Islam - the Shia clerics in Iran and the Wahabi-Sunni of Saudi Arabia.

We don’t have a dog in that race.

Why don't they supply the manpower too, in that case? If overthrowing Assad and replacing him withe the Al Nusra front is the Saudi's pet project, let them pay for it AND do the fighting.

Incidentally, it's quite telling that Kerry used the term "invasion." It kind of betrays the fact that he and Obama were lying when they promised "no boots on the ground."

“For the executive branch to order a Syrian operation bankrolled by the Arabs is to effectively shift the allegiance of the executive branch from its legitimate paymaster — the American people — to a foreign one. From an intellectual and moral perspective, though probably not a legalistic one, this borders on disloyalty.”

you wrote>>I could support an invasion if we are going to turn the country into a Christian nation, ban Islam and make it a territory of the United States.

Thankfully, the most basic concepts in Our Constitution and what America is all about would prevent this.... :-)
