I don’t trust any of the parties in this- USA, Israel, Assad or rebels. None.
The Jihadists/Rebels and all other groups fighting Assad are celebrating the vote today....you know of course they are there to establish an Islamic state with Shariah Law for Syria....and our military actions will make that possible. So to the slaughter of Christians and the Alawites once Assad falls.
I’m with you and have been in that position on a lot of issues lately. One doesn’t always have to choose sides. Sometimes the appropriate answer is “none of the above”.
