I spent a little time in Ireland last month, and they’re still chuckling about him getting drunk at an international conference, and grabbing a seated Angela Merkel from behind. (She’s not very popular in the UK)

He does love the alcohol- his dad was a raging alcoholic and he may be too. At times he has the disconnected speech and look of a drunk just coming off a major bender - incoherent, angry, overly sensitive to criticism, rightous indignation etc.

I was always suspect of his personality "ticks" and one day I was reading the WH Insider blog about the frequently drunk Obama when I became convinced that the WH Insider may just be the real deal -

I’ve read in the hostile press that W is actively fighting his addiction.

I hope so, for his sake. Don’t dislike the man.

Don’t dislike Obama, either. He’s just a slick lawyer expertly riding the affirmative action train. Met lots of his type when I used to work corporate.

Wait, who are you calling an alcoholic? Not W — he’s been a teetotaler since 1986. He hasn’t been drunk for over 25 years.
