No afros? That’s the most idiotic thing I’ve heard in some time.
Seems to me that since they specified afros and dredlocks, styles common to the african-american community, that they have expressed a racial motive in their dress code.
They did also ban mohawks, but the mohawks actually shaved one side of their head, and grew their hair long on the other side. It was the Mohicans who grew their hair longer in the middle and shaved the sides.
Because they seem to be just culturally ignorant, they probably have no ill will and just made a mistake. This is an opportunity to correct their mistake.
Does no afros mean they have to relax/straighten/iron their hair? And I would be interested to see the restrictions on braids. Is one or two braids allowed? And if so, are variations like French braids or a Heidi braid allowed? Those too are ethnic hairstyles.
