Americans are slamming at least 22 members of Congress with thousands of phone calls and emails, urging lawmakers not to approve a military strike on Syria – by a margin of as much as 499 to 1.

A national debate is raging on Twitter. Tweets and statements from members of Congress – both Democrat and Republican – show tremendously strong opposition to President Obama’s call for an air strike on Syria:

The next few weeks will be interesting, but not entertaining.

Agree. He will be returning from the G20 PISSED. Getting slapped down on his Syrian plans isn't going to make things any better. Doubt he will be humbled. More likely the mask comes off and the brass knuckles come out. I look for another "incident". He will respond immediately, but he's blown the advantage of speed. Russian and Chinese forces are moving to the area. Any decisions based on his frustrations could prove even more disastrous. Worse, the ones around him whom he will listen to, think the same way he does.

You're right, IMO, the next weeks will be even more interesting.

Senators and Congressmen I contacted over the years with my concerns have died, resigned, retired, or been defeated decades after receiving my inquiry and without responding.

Personally, I think that those who are now pushing for a fight with Syria are such a tiny minority, that they truly need to have the appellation of “war monger” affixed to their names.

Like the “war monger” John McCain, the “war monger” John Kerry, and of course, the “war monger” Obama.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., admitted her constituents’ calls were “overwhelmingly negative” over a possible Syria intervention, but she added, “They don’t know what I know.”

She knows about as much as Obama has told the American public. She will vote for what ever Dear Leader whats her to.

Agree. 0 doesn't have the stones to nuke anyone under any circumstances. Not that it would be justified under the circumstances.

If he did, though, all the commie pacifists in his party would no doubt rally around him like so many mindless robots.

I have to believe, at least I want to believe, if obama orders a nuke the military will refuse.

Did you hear Negroponte’s response to Greta saying pictures of dead babies would be all over the news claiming the US killed them? He assured her that we would only hit military targets. I think she was glad his time was up.

One thing for sure-—Barry “Lyndon B Johnson” Obama has almost succeeded in uniting the US citizens against a war in Syria.

If we lose a carrier or two the military won’t refuse.

I would hope they’d refuse before we lose anything. I wish they go “Egyptian” on his ass.
