A mother in England is filing suit against a hospital where doctors told her she should have an abortion of her supposedly “brain dead” unborn baby. Sarah Hagan is now suing City Hospitals Sunderland after giving birth to a healthy child.
Hagan says that, after a 24-week ultrasound scan of her unborn baby, doctors told her that her son Aaron was “brain dead,” had just one eye and no chance of survival.
The mother of two says physicians adviser her to take an abortion drug, even though the mifepristone abortion pill is only authorized to be used to destroy the life of an unborn baby much earlier in pregnancy.
When the abortion drug didn’t work, another doctor informed Hagan her baby needed to be delivered immediately and she gave birth to Aaron, who was born at 1lb 7oz with both eyes and healthy other than the fact that he was born prematurely — which has left him with chronic lung problems he wouldn’t have had otherwise. Now Aaron is 15 months old and Hagan is taking legal action.
The London Daily Mail newspaper has more:
Now, the mother of two, along with partner Darren Perry, 25, has begun legal proceedings against City Hospitals Sunderland, after claiming she was told her babys brain had not formed properly, her only option was a termination and that her child could be born with one eye.
As a result of being born so early, Ms Hagan says Aaron, now 15-months-old, has suffered a catalogue of health problems including chronic lung issues and a cyst on the brain.
She said: If I had been allowed to go longer into the pregnancy, I am sure he wouldnt have had any of these problems.
“Now, despite being told he was brain dead, Aarons brain is on par with any other baby of his age.
Despite what they said, he was born breathing and kicking. When I look at him now, I cant believe what almost happened because someone made a presumption from a scan.
I just want other mothers to know my story so that nothing like this happens again.
When my wife was pregnant with our fifth child, she had many, many complications. They recommended a number of tests that would confirm the problem - and then would recommend abortion to “solve” the “problem”. We said NO to any tests, and FIRED the doctor. With bed rest and common sense we carried the baby to term. He was born a perfectly healthy 9 lb baby boy. That was 16 years ago. He is now a 6’-2” 240 lb starting center on his High school football team and a 4.0 GPA student.
Someone in this story was brain dead, just not the baby.
It is past time for physicians of conscience to found an international physicians organization, whose members swear an oath to never kill a patient, either through abortion, euthanasia, or administration of any drug that is poisonous enough to kill, that is not lifesaving therapy.
And that if they are coerced to do so, by a superior, hospital, government or other agency, that they will resign first, communicate this coercion to the organization, that will then blacklist those responsible from others in the organization, so that they will never fall under their power.
Finally, members of this organization will be prohibited from cooperating with or making business arrangements with physicians who kill.
Doctors are so afraid of lawsuits these days that they will make this recommendation rather than take the risk if anything is the slightest indication of anything. Get a second opinion for your baby.
These days, ask what are the percentages and get a second opinion - it is your saving grace.
Amazing! I bet there are many thousands of stories such as ours.
BTTT!
There seems to have been a spate of these types of stories out of the UK. I can only imagine it has something to do with their national healthcare system. Maybe this woman's "zip code" was over it's limit on live births and they needed to free up the hospital bed...?
And many abortions are done using chemical weapons.
My mother-in-law had the measles while she was pregnant with her middle baby, who would grow up to be my husband. Her doctor told her she should have an abortion. She refused, thank God. He and I just celebrated our 17th anniversary.
