J-10 in live-fire training, all 28 rocket projectiles hit targets
On August 21, a division of the air force under the Guangzhou Military Area Command (MAC) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) launched a ground target live-fire training, in a bid to further improve the troops actual-combat capability.
In this live-fire training, the leaders of the division and regiments participated in the flight and organized technical researches. They proposed subjects for the aviation theory exam, and marked the papers to analyze technical difficulties based on existing problems. Seminars were held for pilots to clarify the implementation methods, safety measures and quality inspection. The characteristics of the command in the flight area and the shooting range were discussed, and the command procedures for handling special cases in complex weather conditions were rehearsed. And the teaching methods of teachers and cautions for the implementation of low-altitude live-fire implementation in the target range were clarified.
The ground crew re-studied safety measures for rocket projectiles and air cannon projectiles according to the live-fire training. All kinds of support personnel implemented the requirements strictly. In the training, they carefully organized flight parameter identification and video replay, so that the pilots can have improvements in every flight. On the day, seven pilots launched 28 rocket projectiles and all of them hit the targets.

With all the computers, heads up displays and electronic guidance systems, how could they not hit their targets?
Well, they invented gunpowder, didn’t they?
But then these are the Chinese we are talking about, even if they missed they would call it a hit.
Yeah, the U.S. government/military would never lie would they?
Did they mention just how big this "target" war?
Our 2.75" FFAR rockets were more of a shotgun weapon back when. We would set the pods for single, ripple, or salvo before flight. Never tried salvo on our ground launcher. Ripple was exciting enough.
Dunno of anything has been done to improve the accuracy of tube launched air to ground rockets in 40 years. They always struck me as overgrown pop-bottle rockets with big warheads, and about as accurate.
The 5" Zuni rockets were a real hoot. But a nearby hit by something that big was probably enough.
Oh hell yeah! But we all know it don’t we?
Sounds like each pilot got to fire a single 4x130 pod, http://www.sinodefence.com/airforce/weapon/rocket130mm.asp.
Tube launched, but 5" Zuni sized missiles, and the claim would hold if each pilot put one of the burst of 4 on target.
The air to ground rockets were proven very accurate. Every rocket fired did indeed hit the ground. Several exploded on impact.
Correct.. and rockets are anything but accurate. It’s aiming shooting a bottle rocket at a target. I’d be more interested in the rocket type (smart or not) and it’s guidance / seeker capability.
LMAO!
The vast majority of our high tech is produced in China. They are no longer a laughing matter. I have worked very closely with many of these guys and they are playing for keeps. They are well educated, motivated, and entrepreneurial. They do not seek war with the US but they do seek a better lifestyle. However, if their government demands they go to war, they will.
Thank you.
