For the most part it is no different with the Pols.
I dislike McCain and Graham as much as anyone BUT at least they are sticking to the same ‘beliefs’ they had earlier, likewise the D that are against and the R that are for.
A pleasant change when you remember that Obama, Biden, Kerry, etal OPPOSED Bush now call us ‘traitors’ for not supporting them in the same theme as they damned Bush.

Except the Bush theme had backup, including Hoglary's confirmation that her legally binding philanderer had been apprised of the WMD's. So I guess in comparison, Obama, Kerry and pals really objected to military action when backed up with actual evidence rather than hunch.
People think that Americans were solidly behind the war effort in WWII, but there is a huge caveat.
The American Left was solidly against the U.S. getting involved against Hitler. They wanted nothing to do with it. Then in 1941 they shifted their position 180% and became stridently pro-war. What happened, Pearl Harbor? No. It was Hitler's invasion of the USSR. As German armies steamrolled deep into Soviet territory, American Leftists shifted from peace activists to screaming for war. After WWII, they shifted right back to being peaceniks.
If the Left now wants to attack Syria, we can be assured that their reason is not to protect American interests.
