The State Department on Friday ordered nonessential U.S. diplomats to leave Lebanon due to security concerns as the Obama administration and Congress debate military strikes on neighboring Syria.
In a new travel warning for Lebanon, the department said it had instructed nonessential staffers to leave Beirut and urged private American citizens to depart Lebanon.

Didn’t we spend upteen billions building this embassy to withstand even direct artillery fire?

Well, knowing how much concern the Obama regime has for its diplomats overseas, I'm surprised that these folks haven't fled earlier.

You do know that Lebanon is for all practical purposes, controlled by Hezbollah, which is in turn supported by SYRIA, a country that occupied Lebanon for nearly 30 years.

Yes. I was merely commenting on the apparent ‘disconnect’ in the headline.
My thoughts exactly. I literally exclaimed “huh?” out loud when I read the headline.
I read this as tomahawks are going to fly over Lebanon on the way to Syria.
Not a good idea.
Could be an example of two wrongs making a right... I’ve seen that plenty in the gov’t. A good decision in the end but whoever made it probably thinks Baghdad is in Lebanon.
