These “training” exercises are usually nothing but fun-n-games for those involved, usually to drum up political support and tax monies.

These scenarios are also usually based on silly nonsense not rooted even in the slightest of realities. There are a way for booger-eating Army Ranger/Navy SEAL wannabees to play army men. However, should a real civil war ensue I doubt the “bad guys” will be playing by their make-believe, “OK, the bad guy will be coming by boat but won’t see us in our boats, won’t have spotters or nutin’, so we’ll just sneak up behind them and make amazing one-shot kills and win the game.”

Look at Medieval China, and see some similarities to our near future. What is not often seen through political speech here, is that moves in business, academia and politics have been made for over three decades by constituents behind both political parties toward a class war. It wasn't so clear then. It is now.

These "civilian" law enforcement agency paramilitary organizations are not the well-oiled machines as depicted to the public in all the various movies and TV shows. Far from it. Even if they have a smattering of former military personnel, they do not have the disciplined culture nor unit cohesion of a military unit - nor should they, and for good reason - and as a result whether raiding a meth distribution location or an illegal gambling operation in a bingo hall full of little old ladies - depending on the amount of mission creep that has occurred in your particular locale (your mileage may vary) - when things go off script, outside the margins, confusion, paralysis and then mission collapse sets in. They lose track of who is where and doing what, what is happening from one side of a perimeter to another, everyone keys up on the radio all at once in a jumble of hysterics that only escalates the confusion, effectively cancelling out any efforts of supervisors to calm and regain control of their unit(s) and salvage the mission. The Swatties may work well against feckless criminals or compliant citizenry, but against defiant, determined and organized opposition - no, not gonna cut it.
