Little Rock school district will now make teachers wear underwear
Daily Caller ^ | September 6, 2013

The school district in Little Rock, Ark. has announced plans for a dress code that will require teachers to wear underwear. Every single day. Female teachers will have to wear bras, too.

An Aug. 29 letter from the Little Rock School District’s Office of the Superintendent to all employees explains that the dress code will officially go into effect in the fall of 2014.

“Foundational garments shall be worn and not visible with respect to color, style, and/or fabric,” the letter reads. “No see-through or sheer clothing shall be allowed, and no skin shall be visible between pants/trousers, skirts, and shirts/blouses at any time.”

T-shirts, patches and other clothing containing slogans for beer, alcohol, drugs, gangs or sex will also be prohibited. Other verboten garments will include cut-off jeans with ragged edges, cut-out dresses and spaghetti-straps if teachers aren’t wearing at least two layers.

Flip-flops will be banned. “Tattoos must be covered if at all possible.” No jogging suits, either (though gym and dance teachers do get a pass on this one).

And the very worst of all: No spandex.

Organized labor vocally opposes the new universal underwear requirement and the rest of the non-draconian dress code.

At a school where I taught, we had teachers that would schlep in wearing bedroom slippers, sweat pants, unshaven looking like they had just rolled out of bed.

Our union steward wore a jacket advertising the local bar.

Yes, we looked like union labor, not professionals.

It’s usually “undergarments.” 99% of the time the issues are with employees going braless.

Some less endowed women CAN get away with it. Until the AC gets turned on.

At least that’s what it was when my company started the dress code. And it was fun starting the enforcement process.

yes, they do. I was just this Thursday told by a friend that teaches guitar at the school of rock about a related situation. One of his students came into his lesson and when asked “how’s it going?”, he replied; man school sucks. He proceeded to relay that he wore a Budweiser shirt to school, my friend stated it was a very subdued Budweiser shirt to - not obvious at first glance what the advertisement was for.

Long story short, they pulled the kid into the office, restrained him for a few hours while they evaluated him for drug/alcohol use.

That’s what lack of communication and zero tolerance gets you in at least one MN school (I’m pretty sure this was in Minneapolis or a close suburb).

I don’t think skirts and hose are necessary for children 3rd grade and under as some teachers sit on the floor with the children, clean paint, and do other things that are a little more physical.

A nice pair of khaki pants and tucked in collared shirts looked professional on teachers when I was in school and still looks professional, especially polo shirts with the school’s logo.
