WEYMOUTH - Just minutes after two masked men brandishing handguns robbed Prevites Marketplace on Friday afternoon on Route 53 in Weymouth, one of the robbers carjacked an 85-year-old woman from nearby Linden Ponds, a nursing home and senior citizens residence in Hingham, police said.

I am sure there are many factors playing into why Japan has one of the lowest rates of crime and addiction of any country in the world...but Japan does have crime and Japan does have addictions (alcohol, mainly, and drugs). I would think that the same thing could be said about North Korea and other small countries with large populations of poor people under oppressive governments. These people are also busy surviving, cleaning up disasters, and building/
rebuilding.
Over here in the US people are busy into entertainment through pornography and all sorts of sexual perversions and the glorifying of them on television, in the movies, on billboards, in the lives of our leaders. They are busy satisfying their hunger for entertainment, sex, travel, money, things, sports, etc.
Compared to the people in Japan, the majority of the people in our country are “rich,” we have plenty to eat, we have more time on our hands, and drugs are rampant. In short, we have the time and the abundant opportunities to indulge the lusts of our flesh to the hilt. There seems to be no limit to do evil, and we have become a sick, self-indulgent society that is headed for extinction. We have aborted over 55 million of our babies for expediency and now our leaders are destroying the institution of marriage. [I am reminded of the Roman empire, but it’s the story of all the decadent empires of the past.]
I meant to say in #16 that Isaiah 24 is a chilling passage in the Old Testament of God’s judgment of the nations.
Worth reading.
