While the investigators in the Jenkins case are still keeping details of the murders under wraps, sources tell Channel Six News it appears that what led up to Andrea Kruger's death happened quickly.
In the early morning hours of August 21, Andrea Kruger, a wife and mother of three, was on her way home from work, approaching the intersection of 168th and Fort, where she was about to become the victim of a random attack.
Our sources tell us Nikko Jenkins, along with an unidentified second party were in a vehicle stopped at that intersection when Andrea Kruger happened to pull up behind them. Authorities believe that as Kruger's car slowed to a stop, Jenkins got out of his car, went over to Kruger's, opened the door, pulled her out into the street and shot her several times in the head.

1. Attack and injure a person - up to 20 years in prison.
2. Attack and kill a person - the death penalty.

He could have been kept in prison another TEN or twelve or so years simply based upon his existing convictions!!! (he was sentenced to 21 years but got out in half that time!!)

This was not in “the hood”...this was a suburban road in a nice neighborhood. Housing tracts on two corners, farmland on two opposite corners.

Lock all your car doors. Leave enough room between you and the car in front of you in stopped traffic to exit. Never get yourself boxed in without an exit. A handgun in the glove box would be a plus.

FWIW. Let’s talk numbers instead of perceptions.
The murder rate in the USA hit its lowest point ever in 1963, at 4.6 per 100k. It climbed through the 80s and peaked around 11 in 1987.
It’s has trended down since and we’re very nearly back where we were in 1963.
Late 19th century we were about where we were in the 1980s, and prior to that murder rates had been MUCH higher.
Remember when Mike Dukakis’ campaign was derailed by the Willy Horton ads? Willy Horton (a son of Obama) was a vicious killer who murdered a teenager working at a gas station. The boy was placed in a trash can after being killed. Willy Horton was in jail for this murder when the state of Messachusetts let him out on furlough. He escaped and ended up in a southern state where he invaded a home, tied up the husband and raped the wife.
Elections have consequences. If you vote for liberal democrats you will get criminal loving liberal judges. We have to talk to our families and neighbors about the crime plague in this country and these kinds of crimes and how the liberal media keeps us in the dark about the crimes that they don’t want us to know about. Crime is becoming a very important issue and it can be a good issue for the republicans. When I look at voting map pictures with the blue metropolitan areas, I have to wonder—what is wrong with those people? People who live in the cities should know about the crime problem and those who live in the suburbs of the cities once lived in the cities or their parents did, so don’t they know that LIBERAL judges let the criminals run roughshod over the honest citizens? Vote for democrats and you get liberal judges...plain and simple.
This may very well be an intentionally black on white crime. Of the perp may not have cared one bit about the color of his victim. He wanted the car, and might have been equally willing to murder a black driver.
Certainly the vast majority of black murders are of other black people. Luckily most of the victims are also thugs.
The overall stats may have improved but no one can say that THIS guy every should have been released from prison early!!
He was serving time for previous carjackings and for assaulting prison guards while allowed on “furlough” to attend his grandmother’s funeral in 2009.
He should have been required to serve the maximum possible time given the info in the articles linked above.
The people slaughtered by this monster do not get any consolation from national crime statistics, nor do their families get their loved ones back.
