But the Republicans will move as far left as they can to get as many of them as they can.
And at that point politics and political parties in TX will resemble those in the NE. Left and Lefter.
I personally know the leaders of our Texas party, and they aren’t moving left and neither are our SREC members who run the party along with the officers. Each district elects a male and female SREC member at our state convention and they become the “managing board” of the party so to speak. I would say liberal Republicans do not get elected to those jobs.
State convention Republican delegates are elected to go to convention by their county party and seldom, if at all, would a liberal Republican get elected to go to state convention. That is where it starts to determine who works at the state level for our party. I have been to many state conventions and never voted for a liberal Republican to any office and I don’t think any other delegate would.
As far as Hispanics go, we cannot force millions back to Mexico - that is impossible to do and not going to happen. In Texas, we need a worker program for the ones coming across legally and working. They don’t get citizenship. Employers must identify everyone they hire and it be illegal to hire illegals without a worker permit and the employer gets fined a hefty fine if they do it.
In a town where I used to live years ago, I went to a nice Mexican restaurant. While I was there, a few male Hispanic employees left with some men. They were illegals and had been caught because that restaurant hired them and the restaurant was now in trouble with law enforcement. I’m sure they wouldn’t hire anymore illegals since they had been caught doing that. If illegals can’t get a job, most will go back to Mexico. Naturally, any illegal who has a criminal past or commits a crime should be punished and also sent back to Mexico once he gets out of jail or prison. No system will be perfect but it will be much better than it is now.
