I don’t live in NJ. I grew up in the SE and live here now. I’ve seen what Mexican immigration has done to little towns in MS.
I will tell you what happened in my little town in NJ though. For 60 years it was mainly Polish and Italian immigrants and their descendants. Went overwhelmingly for Reagan both terms. In the late 80’s, however, there began to be an influx of immigrants from MX and Central America. Crime shot up, illegitimacy shot up, taxes shot up.
In the 2008 election my district went 90% for the Won. The Polish and Italian immigrants and their grandkids moved away ASAP when the crime rates went through the roof. Can’t blame them.
Even 911 in my town answered the phone in Spanish! And got snippy if you spoke English.
If Mexican immigrants were conservative, California would be a lock for the Republican party.
Forbes is a pro-immigrant publication. Of course they’re telling you what you want to hear. Reality tells us something else though.
Mexican immigrants overwhelmingly depend on public services to maintain their lifestyle and feed their increasing numbers of out of wedlock children. They’re not going to be voting for lower taxes anytime soon.
And they’re not social conservatives either. Their out of wedlock birth rate alone doesn’t support that theory. Their abortion rate is greater than whites as well. They also overwhelmingly support gay rights and gay marriage.
Believe what you want, reality will prove far different however.
As I said above. If Mexican immigrants were natural conservatives either (or and) socially and fiscally, California would be a lock for the Republican party and wouldn’t be x Billion in debt right now.
The facts in the Forbes article came from our Texas Party Chairman and I know him and he isn’t a liar, the facts are true as the numbers are true. The Texas Republican Party is growing at a steady rate due to his efforts at raising millions of dollars and spending it on a great plan with help from our Hispanic Republicans/Hispanic Republican office holders, and the State Democrat Party is not growing, even though the national Democrat Party has millions to spend in Texas - those are the facts.
New Jersey and other states are not Texas and you can’t compare historical happenings in those states and their present condition with what is happening in Texas now, in the present, not in the past.
Facts matter and the Texas Republican Party is growing and the Texas Democrat Party is not - that is a fact.
