And if we degrade Syria’s military capabilities sufficiently, what happens if one of the other Middle Eastern states decides that Syria has been weakened sufficiently that they can be successfully invaded, and does? THEN WHAT, O Great Genius 0bama? Will you invade Syria to defend them and the balance of power? This man scares the hell out of anybody with an IQ over 50, I swear.
Why does the administration want to bomb Syria anyway? Journalist Daniel Greenfield voiced a common opinion, quote:

Our government has been infiltrated at the highest levels by the Religion of Peace and Marxists (but I repeat myself). I do not believe it is outside the realm of possibilities for individuals such as Petraeus and other ranking ‘leaders’ in the military and Congress to have been told, in no uncertain terms, that there will be dire consequences for not only themselves, but for their friends and family’s a well, if they do not ‘behave’ in a certain way. Tin foil hat theory? I think not.
He probably hasn't looked beyond the 6 channels he's going to hit tomorrow. After that is over, he will not look beyond Tuesday's nights speech.

Many Americans are unwilling to seriously consider the reality that the US is very close in many ways to 20th century authoritarian countries like the USSR and China. People in positions of power and influence or any extension of government authority are under obligation to act in accordance with spoken or unspoken rules and consequences may be dire to the extreme if one is not on board.
My own parents just accept the Fox new narrative for the most part because otherwise it is no fun - or or too depressing to contemplate. They know full well the possibilities but don’t want to believe them or discuss for a second “conspiracy theories” or anything outside of say Limbaugh’s perimeters as in his 90’s Kook Test. They acknowledge ignorance is bliss - they would rather accept the government and media version because it makes life easier for them and they can agree with certain talking heads as they follow along. My parent’s lived for years overseas and in the Middle East and many continents but they just would rather not believe the worst of all American leadership. I’m sure many people are like this.
