So was “Tookie.” Didn’t work out well for him.
To: Sub-Driver
Wouldn’t that just poke Obama in the eye (Russia too?)
To: Sub-Driver

The prize is officially meaningless after that gave one preemptively to 0bama.

Humph .... Snowden deserves it more than Obama (and that’s not to say either one actually deserves it).

That wouldn’t help really. Arafat made them a laughing stock long ago and only fools have regarded them seriously since.
Perhaps it is more accurately referred to as “The Alfred E. Newman” peace prize.

If I were in a position to do so, I would second that nomination. Of course I’d have to have a scintilla of respect for the Nobel peace prize in the furst place to do so. I believe they gave one to Yasar Arafat once.

Will Obama present it to Snowden at the Stockholm ceremony?
To: Sub-Driver
Edward Snowden nominated for Nobel Peace Prize Well the peace prize doesn't mean much anymore, but I'm sure Snowden can use the cash that goes with it.

You’re right. Awarding the NPP to the former NSA employee will never really correct the Nobel Committees mistake, but recalling it from Obama would help to show they are sincere in acknowledging their rush to award the prize solely to make a political statement. They need to clean up their own mess now. They longer they delay, the worse they look.

The prize is officially meaningless after that gave one preemptively to 0bama. Twas meaningless long before then...

That fits in perfectly. Not sure about the years here but:
1993 Yassir Arafart (for pretending to make peace with Israel)
2008: Muhammad El Baradi (Chairman of IAEA, who did absolutely nothing to stop the proliferation of Nuclear Arms in the world).
2009 Baraekh Hussein Obama (was not George Bush)
2013 Snowden?
The Swedes certainly know what they're doing, eh?

Well - Snowdon has probably done at least as much as Obama to promote peace.

Um, Its Chelsea to you bub.......Um, I think you're confusing Edward Snowden with Bradley Manning. As far as I know Snowden wants to retain his original equipment.

Seriously. Why not give it to him. The award isn't worth anything anymore. Its been politicized beyond belief. At least giving it to Snowden gets rid of some of the hypocrisy.
