Doesn’t every so-called news source have a bias? I want to hear from a variety of sources and make up my own mind. Low info voters get their news from David Letterman and MTV.
A la carte channels would be great. Dish Network bundles all the good channels (History, TCM, etc) with loads of Crap channels for their higher-priced programming. After going up and down their programming scale, I’m now one notch above bare bones and it really sucks. Hardly turn it on anymore.
I grew up listening to Shortwave Radio, so I’ve always sought out news from various sources.
Listening to the Commie stations helped me to develop a good “BS Detector.”
It is no worse than msnbc, abc, cbs, nbc, hln. Now that msnbc has baldwin, it is even worse. I do not thnk the people in charge have any sense adding him. I wonder whose place he will take. I won’t be watching.
I cancelled our cable quite a while ago. At first it was due to necessity as we needed to cut cost. Now, even if we could afford it again, we’d do without. Almost everything we want to watch is accessible by Internet. Generally though, we just don’t watch much TV.
I wrote Dish network and complained. I suggest everyone do the same. If the satellite networks get enough complaints, they may do something about it.
It would be an extra fee option, on my Verizon Fios service.
And I’m already paying way too much.
Fox is 44 on mine.
Al Jazeera = MSNBC spoken in tongues.
Listening to the Commie stations helped me to develop a good BS Detector.
Yep, that is what discerning people do. People who believe anything are not going to suddenly wise up no matter what they hear or read. They are the people who think politicians’ promises mean something.
Forced is the wrong word. You still have the opportunity not to purchase their product. On the other hand, your tax dollars are going to the same people.
Did you ever consider that it is your government’s policies that keep us dependent of foreign oil?
Perhaps we should worry less about cable pandering and start looking at the folks in Washington real close!
I was at a friend’s house a few months ago and was handed the TV remote to scan for something to watch. I swear it felt like I was reading the content of my email spam folder.
On Verizon FiOS, I tried blocking Al Jazeera but the most I can do is “parental block” it.
Thus when you flick channels the logo/channel still pops up with a grayed-out screen.
I’ve had my big screen wired out to a PC in a closet with an Bluetooth keyboard for a couple of years. There is more on the internet that you could watch in three lifetimes. Roku is nice too. What worries me about Roku is that it’s easy enough for soccer moms to hook up. When they start buying them they’ll go into Vivian Leigh theatrics when they can’t plop their spawn in front of the tee vee with a Roku remote unattended for hours on end.
In the first HOUR Al Jazeera went on the air, both Hillary and McCain endorsed it.
Cable is a buffet and You fund plenty of channels you never watch.
If you Al Jazeera dropped, don’t ever stop on that station .
Not for a quick drive by, nuttin.
