The chemical weapons are a bargaining chip for Assad. What does he need them for, if no longer as a potential threat against his enemies, whether used or not? He has Russia as well as Iran as protectors now for the continuation of his regime in power. Playing this chip now suits his interests.
However it plays out in fact, Obama’s regime is enjoined from using cruise missles and bombs against Assad interests as long as the chemical weapons deal acts as the slightest fig leaf to cover his regime.
A concern I have is that these loose-mouthed cannons here will try some other ruse to involve us against Assad and on the rebels’ side. And yes that includes McCain, Grahamnesty and other RINOS along with this regime.
Assad is the lesser of evils.
But some can’t accept that, for reasons of their own that are driving them. Investigative journalists, back in the day when they existed, would have loved to rip back the curtain covering the motivations of those in high office here, who are behind the shenanigans.
