Russia calls for protection of Christian holy places in Maalula, Syria

Never fear: the Americans are coming -- on the side of the jihadis, that is. "Russia calls for protection of Christian holy places in Maalula," from Interfax, September 6 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

Moscow, September 6, Interfax - The Russian Foreign Ministry has expressed concern over the attempts made by the armed opposition in Syria to take over the city of Maalula, a symbol of the Christian presence in Syria.

"Moscow is deeply concerned over the fact that terrorist attacks in Syria have affected Maalula, a symbol of the Christian presence in this country. Its residents speak the Aramaic language, which is almost extinct and is the language in which Jesus Christ preached, and the churches located in this city are among the oldest and most honored churches of Christians," the Russian Foreign Ministry's information and press department said in a commentary released on Friday.

The Russian Foreign Ministry called "on everyone who cares about the fate of the people of Maalula to do everything possible to prevent their killing and the destruction of Christian holy places."

"Terrorist attacks need to be stopped immediately. Special responsibility for them rests with those forces in the region and outside of it that encourage terrorists, intentionally or not," the document says.

So Russia wants to protect Christian locations but Obama doesn’t. Yet Putin is a bad guy. I have a lot more respect for Putin than I will ever have for Odumbo.

Amazing how a country that for 70 years, virtually banned religion and promoted atheism, is now leading the fight to protect Christianity, and a country founded on religious freedom over 200 years ago, has turned on Christianity and Judaism and allied itself with a militant cult of death!

Protect the Christian holy places, but not the Christians who were forcibly converted or killed. Their daughters were raped or married off to soldiers.

But, the buildings will still be tourist spots generations from now. (Assuming there are any Christians left to go on these holy land tours.)

What would really be sweet is if Putin sent in the Spetsnaz to protect the Christians in Syria from the Islamic Savage Rebels (aka: al-Queda terrorists).

What would our sissy man-boy prez do then?...besides go golfing.

In the other articles the spelling was Maaloula, so I have added that to the Keywords above for bringing up the history of this topic.

Christianity is people rather than places.

Weren’t the people here already attacked, killed, brutalized, threatened into converting, young women kidnapped, raped, married off to jihadis, etc??

Am I missing something?

Now the world knows what we have known all along, obama is a major failure. Putin is just beginning to put the nails in obamas coffin. Odummy will find a way to take credit no matter what Putin does. Obama is to arrogant to admit defeat.

Putin slapped obama when obama thought all the reporters would follow him to the gym in Russia for his “look at me” photo-op pics. Instead they followed Putin to the sea where he took off his shirt and swam in ice cold water. Obama was left holding the bag. Heard this on Fox and LOL.

From the pre-Reagon era in Russia where believing in God was unlawful, religion, particularly Christianity, has grown by leaps and bounds. Meanwhile back here in the US, Christianity is under attack by the government.

“Protect the Christian holy places, but not the Christians who were forcibly converted or killed.”

The Christians are still there. Only some of them were killed by the rebels.

From the pre-Reagon era in Russia when worship of God was unlawful, Christianity in Russia has grown by leaps in bounds. This is good!

Meanwhile back in the USA, Christianity is under attack by the government, a government which, I suspect, would mind is Christianity were unlawful. This not good!!

Have the poles reversed??
