I always put in 0 for tip (because there is cash on the table or given to the waitress/waiter) and the carry the total down though.
I call BS on this as well.
Plus, I was at Walmart for work today in a part of town you don’t go to after dark and all the people of color where calling each other that. Even yelling it across the store.

A couple months back I was in Jacksonville, TX fueling up my pickup at a gas station and this white chick pulls up to the pumps with her car radio BLARING some rap crap... every other word was Nigger... She goes in to prepay her $5 to trickle a little gas Iinto her tank... "music" blaring... Nigger this, nigger that, nigger, nigger, nigger... at maximum volume.
She comes back out puts a little bit of fuel in her tank, hangs up the nozzle, gets in her car and leaves...
All the sudden it was quiet... finally! I looked over at the white guy filling his pickup at the pump next to me and said, "Hey, I think that song she had on was about Niggers."
He smirked and just shook his head.
