What is the Obama administration plan in Syria?
It depends on whom you ask and when.
At 9 p.m. Tuesday, President Obama, in his address to the nation, said that he had “asked the leaders of Congress to postpone a vote to authorize the use of force.”
This contradicted what his secretary of state, John Kerry, had said in testimony to Congress just 11 hours earlier. “We’re not asking Congress not to vote,” Kerry told the House Armed Services Committee. “I’m not asking [for] delay,” he added later.
Kerry can be forgiven for being at odds with the president. The president, in the space of his 16-minute address, was often at odds with himself. He spent the first 12 minutes arguing for the merits of striking Syria — and then delivered the news that he was putting military action on hold.
He promised that it would be “a limited strike” without troops on the ground or a long air campaign, yet he argued that it was the sort of blow that “no other nation can deliver.”

First, Fudd … er Kerry, gets asked a pretty routine question (“Is there anything Syria could do to prevent a military strike?”) and answers by saying, “Sure — he could turn over every bit of his chemical weapons in a week.”
The words had hardly left his lips before those wascally Russians pounced. Putin announced he would get the Syrians to hand the weapons over to the international community, and the Syrians — no dummies themselves — said “Sure!”
The Obama administration was left with that stunned look Wile E. Coyote always had on his face when the Acme rocket turned and headed toward him.
They started backtracking, with the State Department dismissing Kerry’s gaffe as mere “rhetoric” and CNN reporting that the White House was calling it “a major goof.”
But within hours, that “goof” had become the formal policy of the Obama White House. And so there was Obama on Monday, taking credit for forcing the Russians to act because of President Obama’s “credible threat of the use of force.”
(What) “credible threat,” you ask? The “incredibly small” one John Kerry promised days ago that was blown up into a terrifying attack that cowed the Russians and Syrians before the might of President Obama!
Or as they say at the State Department: “Be vewy, vewy quiet. We are hunting chemical weapons.”

There is no way Syria can (with Russia) implement this demand - it takes years, under the best of circumstances.

The Iranians have already threatened to rape Obama’s daughters if they attack Syria. That’s why he called off the whole thing. Now once they get an Atomic bomb, Obama will fly them over to Tehran on Air Force One with the beds on board, already made and tidy...
