Rights: Colorado voters on Tuesday ousted two leading supporters of stricter gun control laws, saying "ready, aim, fired" to those who would deny movie patrons and college women the right to armed self-defense.
One would think that Colorado, the site of the tragedies at Columbine and the Aurora movie theater, the purple state where President Obama accepted his first nomination amidst faux Greek columns, would be the least receptive of states for the arguments of Second Amendment defenders.
Colorado state Senate President John Morse and Sen. Angela Giron found out differently on Tuesday as they were ousted by gun rights advocates in a recall election.
Colorado voters were persuaded that the perils of an unarmed citizenry and the spread of gun-free zones place the public in greater peril at the hands of the unhinged and criminal predators in their midst, and perhaps perceived the common thread in such tragedies the absence of people willing and able to shoot back.

So, when will the laws be rescinded?
It will take throwing them out and Repulicans taking over to repeal them.
Just as soon as their loopy retard governor unsigns it?
Not for awhile. Demo’s still have majorities. I hope there will be changes in 2014 to include Gov Chickenpooper.
Does anyone know when the losers leave office and the winners move in?
I am curious if the winners are sworn in immediately or is there a delay or transistion period.
Recalled. Like a defective Pinto.
Good question.
Was this just a Recall? Or was there an opponent that ran against them?
Gun control don't go 'round here, lib dogs!
My understanding is that it is really both.
Below is a link to a typical news report explaining that aspect, but I still haven't found anything stating definitively when the transfer becomes official.

From the article:
"The ousted Democrats will be replaced by Republicans who also appeared on the recall ballots. Former Colorado Springs city councilman Bernie Herpin will succeed Mr. Morse, while retired deputy Pueblo police chief George Rivera takes over the Giron seat."
If the legislature is out of session (likely), it'll be sometime before the recess ends. It can be vague, it doesn't matter.
...Yes, just checked. Next session is in January. They're vague about the exact date because it doesn't matter. Wiki link.
I wonder if the Democrat Colorado governor is going to immediately offer Morse and Giron jobs in his administration, so they can keep feeding off the government teat.
Let me point out several facts absent from this article.
1. The NRA indeed donated $360,000 but only after Michael Bloomberg personally donated $350,000 of his own money. And the NRA didn’t donate any money until after the recalls were safely on the ballot, that is, the recall effort was a grass roots effort all the way.
2. Of the $3,000,000 total campaign donations, the pro-recall forces raised only $540,000 of that, meaning the anti-recall forces outspent the pro-recall forces by six to one, and yet they still lost.
3. Almost all of the money came from out of state.
4. Both recall districts have more registered Democrats than Republicans, but the Democrats lost the recalls anyway.
“I am curious if the winners are sworn in immediately or is there a delay or transistion period.”
No transition period. The losers are out the microsecond after the poll results show they’ve lost! No good byes or hale fellows well done in the legislative chambers. No offical retirement parties. No nothing. The bastids is simply out!
“Colorado Voters Blow Whistle on Anti-Gun Pols”
How sweet it is.
(Two more psychotic progressives away from the levers of power.)
IMHO
They were beaten by an opponent. They were the first 2 state office holders to ever be removed by recall. Never before in the history of CO has this happened.
I salute CO voters for this. Show no quarter at the next election either.
<< First, do both gun grabbers immediately lose their seat? >>
Yes at 10 am today.
<< Second, who replaces them? >>
Bernie Herpin takes Morses seat .
George Rivera takes Girons seat.
Hey Mark Kelly are you and your hand puppet Gabby Giffords listening?
The GOP never gets rid of laws, even unconstitutional ones.
I am confident the GOP would repeal these gun control laws, especially after this recall. The argument that Connecticut, or here Aurora, fundamentally changed the gun control politics has been exposed as wrong.
