BERLIN — Angela Merkel might not personally like Vladimir Putin very much, but the German chancellor is surely pleased the Russian president’s diplomatic efforts have temporarily averted U.S. plans for a military strike against Syria.

And Merkel’s aversion to getting involved in the conflict has exposed rifts in the trans-Atlantic alliance by often leaving Berlin seemingly more in agreement with Moscow than Washington.

“Is Germany drifting away from the West? There’s an interesting shift in thinking in Berlin,” Hans Kundnani, the editorial director of the European Council on Foreign Relations, told Yahoo News.

Is there anywhere in the world — anywhere — where Obama hasn’t screwed things up royally and there isn’t some rift?

In just a few short years Obama, single-handedly, has set the entire world ablaze. He is the human wrecking ball.

There is not a rift. Its just the Germans think our leadership is either full of it, or they dont trust their poor judgement of running off to start bombing without thinking things through.

Germany isn’t drifting away from the West. They’re running away from Obama.

There are no rifts between germany and the US, the rifts are between the world leaders and a POTUS who is unable to tell the truth about anything and who so weak that he is an embossment to this great nation.
