The Grantville, Georgia Police Chief has been suspended for a week - without pay - merely for visiting Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio during his vacation.
Chief Doug Jordan and his wife planned a recent trip to Arizona to celebrate their wedding anniversary. They had honeymooned there 31 years ago. They paid for the trip and its expenses themselves.
While there, Jordan thought it would be a great idea to see if he could meet with Arpaio. He was honored when Arpaio agreed to do so.
“I meet with people from all over the country,” said Arpaio. “I have an open door policy, and he wanted to see me along with his lovely wife. He wanted to pick my brain and was hoping to go back to his home and fight the drug problems there.” Arpaio was a DEA official for 25 years in Argentina, Turkey, Mexico and Arizona; and 20 years fighting Mexican cartels as Maricopa Sheriff, so he knows a thing or two about fighting crime.
Following their meeting, Jordan expressed his hopes to establish Grantville’s own drug team. He also expressed interest in having some of his officers travel to Arizona for training.
But as news of this meeting became known, back in Georgia, some creeps started stirring.
During his comments at the next council meeting, Council member Johnny Cooks shared his lack of support for Jordan’s actions and plans:
After a closed personnel session at Monday’s Grantville City Council meeting, Jordan was suspended for a calendar week without pay for violating the city manager’s policy of reporting anything that is not routine. The city council voted 2-1 to suspend Jordan.
The two cowardly Councilmen who voted to suspend this great public servant were Mr. Cooks (EMAIL) and Mr. Barham Lundy (EMAIL). Feel free to email them to let them know you don't approve of their cowardly vote against Chief Jordan (keep it G-rated).
Grantville Mayor Jim Sells (Email), who was on vacation and not at the council meeting, said later that he's appalled at the action, and fully supports the police chief.
"I am appalled at the council's decision to suspend our police chief without pay," the mayor said in a statement. The mayor vowed to try and restore Jordan's pay at the next full council meeting.

Every day we see citizens “dealing” with unrepresentative public officials. It is time for many of us, in this case the citizens of Grantville, Georgia to be heard.

Meanwhile, in Seattle, libs are irate - and mayoral candidates are pandering to them - that a Chick-Fil-A restaurant has applied for a permit to build a restaurant in North Seattle. Apparently - according to the views of these people - the Chick-Fil-A’s founder’s opposition to gay marriage renders him unfit to operate a business in Seattle. But these people all voted for Obama, at a time when HE claimed to oppose gay marriage. Of course, they knew he was lying. Better a lying president than an honest Christian.
Wasn’t it some county in Georgia that when a new, black police chief took office, one of his first actions was to fore all the white LEO and station armed officers on the roof of the building merely to humiliate them? How DO racist blacks get away wth these blatantly, in-your-face racist actions, while a white person gets fired for using the word “niggardly” perfectly in context? I suppose it’s the same way the media launches a national serxhing of the souls of whites for crimes which never happened (false rape accusations by black women against white males), while ignoring the average 100 rapes per day by black men upon white women (includinf very elderly white women). No soul searching necessary for that crime epidemic, not even any acknowledgement of it in the national media as events which are related in a big picture.
