Don't know if there is anything to this or not but it makes perfect sense.
the link above says that Syria is trucking poison gas into both Lebanon and Iraq(sound familiar) in advance of the UN coming their way to destroy their supplies.
My guess is that Syria will gladly let the UN have all the leaky 55 gallon barrels full of decomposing chemicals that are near impossible to contain while they keep the good stuff in safe hiding.

McCaul is not a very strong advocate for the Republicans. His responses are talkingpoints and he isn’t making them very passionately.
Van Hollen has more experience on these morning shows and he is giving the appearance that Obama/Kerry won regarding Syria.

On Syria, the GOP are pulling defeat out of the jaws of a political victory. They are good at that. Boehner is already negotiating terms of surrender with Obama. At least McConnell is keeping his mouth shut — he is, after all, fighting a serious reelection challenge.

Every time the Congressional GOP takes a stand on anything (Obamacare repeal, budget ceiling, etc.) the newstalkies yell ‘Shutdown! The GOP wants to shut down the government.’
The Dems and Media run with that, and, of coure, the GOP whimps out. The Pubbies wince every time ‘shutdown’ is claim, just as they do when the Dems/Media play or threaten to play the race card.

U.S. military officials have looked into the possibility of gaining influence over members of Unit 450 through inducements or threats. “In a perfect world, you would actually like to co-opt that unit. Who cares who pays them as long as they sit on the chemical weapons,” said a senior U.S. military official.
Now, the chief of rebel forces, General Salim Idris, is accusing the Assad regime of moving chemical weapons stockpiles clear out of the country into Iraq and Lebanon.”
