I was really sweating that one. The only thing I could think of to keep the busloads from Denver and Boulder campuses from pouring in was to hire all the buses ahead of time and just keep them parked somewhere secure. It still might be a plan in an election that people will think is too close to call.
True, the libs would have to regroup into van pools etc., but then, of a sudden, it's no longer a holiday outing but a grinding - and expensive - run.
I don’t take away “grassroots won” from this, I take away that guns are one issue where the people are decisively on our side. Even a large minority of DU is against gun control.
You know I love ya bro.... but the original poster is right.... if we are to be defined as Conservatives, the GOP is as much our enemy as the Democrats.
I've studied Russia, I speak the language (passably), and I've been. Russians are a lot different than Americans. We have a fierce independent streak that they simply lack. Russians are used to SOMEone being in a position of absolute authority: First the czars, then the communists... now the Putins of their world, someone has always held absolute and unchecked authority. That is not an experience we have had (until Obama), so we are not conditioned to submit. We are conditioned to fight back.
