Obama and Kerry are inept. They never analyzed just why the Russians support Assad. The Russians do not want Syria to be ruled by al Qaeda dominated jihadists. Syria is close to Russia’s southern border where political Islamists are causing mayhem. It will only get worse if they have a secure base in Syria. Putin inherently understands the lessons of the Boston marathon bombing better than Obama.
