During CNN's live coverage of Monday's shooting at the Washington Navy Yard, anchor Carol Costello asked when the last time was that a gunman wreaked "havoc at a U.S. military facility." In 2009, a jihadist killed 13 in a mass-shooting at Fort Hood in Texas.
"I used to work in Washington, live in Washington. This seems so unusual to me that a gunman could create this kind of havoc at a U.S. military facility," Costello stated. "Have you ever heard of it happening before, Brian?" she asked correspondent Brian Todd, reporting live from the vicinity of the shooting.
They come right out of the gate spinning and the facts never quite catch up.
News readers can’t remember to come in out of the rain.
What was “Brian’s” response?
Should have responded:
“That dismissive, naivete, makes you unqualified to be Commander in Chief!”
Of course she can’t remember it; after all it was just a workplace violence incident.
And the reporter she asked couldn’t remember either?????

There are a lot of shootings on military bases.
For example, there was a shooting right here in her back yard at Quantico in March of 2013. 2 people killed, and the perp committed suicide. That wasn’t long ago and far away, like Fort Hood.
There was the guy who was shooting up military facility entrances. There’s been multiple domestic killings that took place on military living facilities and work facilities.
Military facilities are mostly gun-free zones, and make good shooting ranges.
All that reveals is what we’ve long suspected....these people truly DO NOT BELIEVE that a world exists outside of the D.C. Beltway.
I think he tried to bail her out. He said he couldn’t remember the last time one happened in DC area or something like that. He limited to a smaller area, trying to help her out that OOPS!.

TODD: Well, we haven’t either in this area, Carol. This is the first time we’ve seen something like this, at least in many, many years. Now you remember the Fort Hood shooting in 2009, where that was a member of the service who was convicted eventually of doing that shooting.

As Sandy was bearing down on us in the NYC area, I was watching a local weatherman pointing at a map and describing the areas he thought the most vulnerable, “And if you look at the map here, you can see that Staten Island is virtually surrounded by water...”
